Young England Players

Apologies if there has been a similar post recently.
We now have three more young talented England players, Abraham, Chilwell and Sancho unavailable because they breached COVID rules, following similar breaches by Foden and Greenwood. Chilwell was also dropped at Leicester for some 'party' misdismeanour earlier this year.

Do these people not understand rules?, or more specifically how privileged they are to be so highly paid to have a profession that one assumes they love being part of? It boils my blood to see how these arrogant p1llocks behave.

As a youngster I dreamed about playing professional football (for the Boro) and would have done it for free.

Not sure what a suitable punishment would be - maybe two/three strikes and that's it as an international.

Rant over. Have a good day, and stay safe.

It’s difficult to justify their behaviour but they’re not acting any differently to most teens and 20 somethings I know. When you consider they’re elite athletes, the chances of them suffering badly from the virus are very low. The issue is that they’re role models and they have responsibilities to their clubs. I think the clubs should ensure this kind of behaviour is severely punished. It’s the only way it will stop. I suspect it’s no more than a fine and a quiet warning though in most cases.

Generally I think pro footballers are better behaved than young men of a similar age in general

If we took any sample of 500 young men between 18 and 35, (that's equivalent to 25x20 PL squads; I know in the reality there are quite a few more than that), in any given year a fair number are going to be cheating on their women etc, another proportion will be involved in motoring offenses, quite a number will be caught up in drugs or alcohol-related skirmishes, and a handful will be involved in more serious crime.

If a footballer does any of those things, it makes the news, and I think the last 2 on the list are definitely rarer amongst footballers than amongst young men in general. I don't think the first 2 are any higher, though opportunity for footballers will no doubt present itself more often.

I agree with as above, their adherence to covid restrictions is the same as many people of that age, and not the result of beliving rules don't apply to them because they're footballers.

Sale Rugly Team - something like 25 tested positive.
It’s not a footy thing it is societal

As I've said before, during the initial lockdown when home visits were prohibited, the family next door had visitors, parties, get togethers, sing songs in the garden EVERY day. They're in their sixties; arrogant as **** and couldn't give a toss about rules or regulations. They're special... apparently!
