Mackem Delusion

Sunderland fans have a huge collective ego, if you read their forum you'd genuinely think you are reading a Man United or Liverpool forum. Its not just a big club mentality is a mentality of a an absolutely massive club.

God knows where it comes from, they have 1 major trophy in 86 years and that's known as one of the biggest FA Cup upsets of all time. They have no European pedigree and have been a yo yo club for half a century.

When you talk about a deluded fanbase they are right up there with the geordies.

Not for me. Good Championship CH but too slow and limited for the Premier League.
I know others feel differently but that's my take.
Not as good as Ben Gibson and he couldn't cut it in the Prem.
I totally agree with your assessment, actually thought he was 21-22 but he’s 26 which surprised me

Sunderland currently are an over achieving promoted league one club, fair play to them for keeping with the pack. I still think they will finish 12th.

Clubs who won a few trophies in the 1920s seem to share a similar ego. I used to live with a Wednesday fan who was similar, although he’d actually seen his team win a league cup at least.

I’ve no doubt Royal Engineers and Clapham Rovers fans would be just as bad if they still existed.

I think a 14 year old is the admin for this page.

And yes you've guessed it...a very large paragraph referring to attendances. And in particular, please note the utterly desperate attempt to big themselves up by pointing out their attendances compared to Juventus and Porto.

This is actually very true.
