Mackem Delusion

I think their default position, after it’s not a derby, is our poor support because they get more fans. It’s the only thing that have over us because, invariably, we have a better team.
They are convinced they are better than us because they beat us while we had an off day.

It's their constant metric for their belief they are better than us whilst completely ignoring everything else for the rest of the season.

They also seem to think if the cameras don't see that top tier is empty, it isn't empty 90% of the time , selective blindness prevails about the vast empty area of their ground .

Best line on there Jack clarkes worth 10M :ROFLMAO:.........Ryan Giles has more assists as a full back !!!

They said £25m the other day

Lets not forget this is the highest level sunderland have competed at for 5 years.

The only factor that would suggest that sunderland are a 'big club' is they manage to get 35k attendances. Every other factor would suggest they are an irrelevance to english football and are here to just make up the numbers.

That forum is absolutely mental. They are truly deluded. What doesn't help is how good Newcastle have done this season. They are desperately trying to convince themselves they are doing ok as a club through self therapy on a forum. It is hilarious to watch. They all think they play amazing football, have world class young players and everyone thinks they are massive. Whilst being mid table in the championship and getting hammered at home to the likes of Stoke.

They believe with Stewart they would be right in there battling with Sheff Utd, above us! What a player Ross Stewart must be. He can't be just a decent championship striker he must be some sort of Beckenbauer/Zidane/Haaland hybrid that only Sunderland know about.

They are doing OK as a club. They're doing really well for a side who have come up to the Championship after an extended stay in League One. And they have proven themselves capable of beating most Championship sides on their day. So I can see why they'd get carried away after some of their performances, we were in their position around this time last season.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them around the playoffs next season. Until the inevitable Tony Mowbray second half of the season collapse, anyway.

They are already 'around the playoffs' this season. With a good chance of making them. Then who knows what will happen? Because as you say, they can beat most teams on their day. Including us.

They're where we were last season. Having to win every single game and hope everyone else slips up. It's not impossible, but as we've found many times in the last 5 years, chasing 6th place at this stage of the season almost always ends in disappointment.
