Local elections TODAY

Embarrassed and ashamed to live in Ingleby Barwick today. Barely anybody bothers to turn up to vote and in my patch we returned a former UKIP racist/ homophobe and two Tories! Simply impossible to understand - how do people sleep at night when the NHS is on its knees, Truss broke the economy escalating mortgage rates, immigration policy is non existent, the cost of living crisis is crippling most people, foodbank use is at record levels and inflation means we pay more for everything. Add to this Utility companies making record profits on the back of the poorest, non doms taking everything whilst contributing nothing. All laid at the Tories feet and selfish I’m alright jacks in IB stick their cross in the UKIP and Tory box. Desperately sad and disappointing
The whole Stockton result is embarrassing, I feel like I live in an area full of clowns.

2/3rds of the votes in my district went to the Tories, and another 1/6th went independant.

It's a nice area sure, but the vast majority of people here are certainly not in the top 1/3rd "class wise", and next to none of them are getting good value by voting Tory, it's bonkers.

The Ingleby voting is laughable, 95% of them will be relying on public services a hell of a lot, using the NHS, not using private schools etc, and loads of them are employed in the public sector. Why do they side with the main party which is against them? Why vote for potential loose cannon independents who a lot of them know nothing about, which I bet most are Tory, or closet Tory.

Mrs would not tell me who she was voting for as mayor. When she woke this morning I told her Preston won by 1 vote. The look on her face told me that she had voted for the ejit.
I kept the beans and let her find out for herself. She's not happy with me.... again.

Middlesbrough

Prior to this election Labour had 21 of the 47 councillors (44.7%)
Independents had 23 (48.9%)
Conservatives had 3 (6.4%)

As of the results announced so far (20 seats)

Labour have 11 (55%)
Independents 8 (40%)
Conservatives 1 (5%)

Can someone explain to me why Joan McTigue (Independent) keeps getting elected in Longlands and Beechwood? Totally baffles me. She seems absolutely barking mad to me. What am I missing, can someone in her ward enlighten me?
Gammon ward.

Ingleby mob have yet to realise that they are not wealthy enough to be Tory .

Labour have the most council seats for the first time since 2002, but yeah they done badly
I was listening to Radio 5 driving home and in fairness even the Tory MP who was being interviewed was focussed mainly on how badly the Tories had done.

Its a complete disaster for Sunak, the Lib Dem’s and Greens have knocked down the Blue Wall in areas where the bricks were stuck together with epoxy glue.

The voters have turned tactical and the sands have shifted, make no mistake about that.

Look on the Daily Mail homepage, and get a sore finger scrolling all the way down down down until you get to the article saying that Starmer will fail to win a majority in an election with these results - and SNP glee that they will hold the balance of power at the next election

It is because they are as thick as **** and think that because they live in a new build 'executive' shoe box with a massive mortgage and have a range rover sport on finance parked on their tiny drive that they are now masters of the universe.

No helping some of these brain dead morons.

Anyway, that aside, results are looking pretty darn good.

Yeah but, Labour only won because all the patriotic Conservative voters were at the Coronation.

Careful, mate. BoroFur will track you down, and then he'll do a poo on your patio if you say things like that.
