Who is the worst courier service and why is it Evri?

Seriously. F***ing Evri. Not the first time this has happened, and the worst thing about buying online with certain companies is not being able to choose your preferred courier and they ALWAYS use sodding Evri! At least I got an email this time, the last problem I had with them was when they actually delivered my parcel. Three hours before the stated delivery slot, when I was out. They dumped it in front of my door in full view of the street and of course, it got stolen.

Their customer service is absolutely *****, too.

Anyone else have any horror stories from this godawful company?

(This parcel actually arrived at their depot on the 25th of August, for what it's worth....)

Evri lost one of my parcels because they said the address didn't exist. Frustrating enough if it had been my home address, but it was actually being sent to one of their own parcel lockers: they picked the address then said they couldn't find it!

That is a whole new level of incompetence!

This parcel wasn't much better, it was going to an Evri branded collection point in my local Tesco!

I ordered a book online a few weeks ago.

Got the usual email saying the book was with my courier, Barbara. Who had been with evri for all of two months.

Anyway, doorbell went off later that day. Got to the front door to see Barbara already back in her car and a parcel on the doorstep. A parcel that was for the house next door.

I waved at young Babs to hand the parcel back, needless to say she huffed and puffed when I told her she’d got the wrong house. I live at 46, the parcel was for no 44.

No sign of my book. Get an email the following day saying it would be delivered between 2-3pm

Come 3pm, parcel still hasn’t arrived.

At 3:30pm I see the lovely Barbara pull up in her car outside again. Obviously I expect her to have my book and expect a knock on the door.

At 3:32pm, I see Barbara at the house opposite and get back in her car and speed off.

Checked my email. To my surprise I find out my book had been delivered. Open the front door - no parcel on the doorstep.

Checked the photo in the email. Find out Barbara has surpassed herself two days running by delivering my parcel to the other house next door - no 48.

I provided some online feedback to evri but I never got a response.

No idea if the useless bint, who is obviously incapable of reading house numbers is still employed but I think this sums evri up. Useless.

I once had a new golf club (£350) delivered which specified on the delivery note "must be signed for". It was left by my front door - I was even in the house!!! Luckily, I got the photo and notification about the delivery and managed to get it before some scrote had their mits on it.

Last week was my first experience of Evri, I ordered it Sunday night for Wednesday, even paid a little bit extra so it could arrive then when I was off work. I was tracking it and it seemed to be stuck at some depot, so on Tuesday I changed the delivery option because I thought it's not arriving Wednesday now and I won't be in Thursday and Friday. Come Thursday the van tracker device was still in the same place it had been on Monday and Tuesday, I rose a complaint had the usual blah blah back. On Saturday I had two messages from Evri, one saying it had been delivered to preferred delivery point and another message from the complaints system saying they couldn't find my parcel, fortunately it turned out to be the former, and I collected my parcel after work on Saturday. Not sure after my experience and reading the above that I want to use them again.

I have worked for a German delivery company in the past. If the recipient stated a location it went there as it was their call and if it went missing not the Companies fault. If nobody was in they got a card stating 1st attempt and rearrange. after 2 more it went back to where it came from.

My recent parcel didn't even get to that point, it was lost* at the depot

*Stolen

Our Evri delivery driver is quality and goes out of her way to make sure the parcel is delivered. I do think I have been lucky with this company and never really had any real issues (touch wood) with them.
That’s just it. It’s pot luck who your courier is.

My mum orders things off QVC all the time and they use Evri and she never has any complaints. Reckons her courier is excellent.

I always make sure that I use companies who use reputable couriers; you clearly didn't know what you were doing.

Also only have good things to say about Evri. I live in a place where we get the same driver every time and she is brilliant. Always on time, knows us, leaves parcels securely when needed and she responds on the local Facebook group even when people have had a problem.

I think if you live somewhere where you get different drivers each time then it can be very hit and miss on whether you get a good one or not.

Nice try, but this website in particular doesn't state which courier it uses.

If a site does and it's Evri, I order elsewhere. Which is what i'll be doing as soon as my refund clears.

Was that local. You need to go to your local depot and complain.
No idea if it was a local depot or not, but like i've said I contacted the retailer who immediately issued a refund. I got absolutely zero updates from Evri after my parcel was scanned in at their depot, though.

Evri. I thought you meant the German company I used to work for.

It definitely depends on the driver. In my last house I had numerous run ins with Hermes/Evri but since moving our Evri driver is spot on.
