Warnock facing a fight to save his job if we lose at West Brom [Mail/heman/advent/various]

If the club do actually have a plan they must've ID'd a candidate (or two) as the next manager who has a style of football that fits in with vision of Kieran Scott. I can't see Gibson sacking Warnock unless that person is available or we're actually looking in danger of getting relegated. Would reckon that if Warnock did go during the season it'd be more of his own choice.

They will surely have invested funds in the summer with expectations of the play offs.

Will they really write of those expectations if Warnock looks like he’s not going to get us there?

COMPLETE SPECULATION: It could be Kieron Scott gaining influence with SG; Player disillusionment; A managerial target becoming available (Farke........Bruce - kidding); Mutual consent....

I very much doubt it would be down to results alone

Agree with Centralscrutinizer.

firstly though we have to believe the daily Mail has got better contacts in the club than the local journo’s and if course our own boards ITK’s. If they do, then there must be a candidate that has become available

Farke at Norwich could have been sacked at a less patient club. Obvious connection with Scott at Norwich

what I don’t understand about stories like this is, what if we burgle a last minute equaliser or (could happen) we win. Is all now ok with the Boro?

The objective was playoffs given the investment this summer and if we fail to win today expect Warnock to go as we failing, the squad doesn't seem to be behind Warnock that much and reports of players falling out with him

absolutely this. would be crazy to get rid of Warnock now unless we have someone lined up who fits the future vision.

It’s Gibson’s responsibility to take an overall view, Southgate was sacked after a 2 nil victory.

If this happens - I hope it's Farke. We still have a chance of the playoffs and even if we don't make it he (or any other manager) won't need to hit the ground running in the close season. He obviously has ability as a coach, has a connection with Kieron Scott and he would signal that MFC have a longer term game plan of some sort. I cannot believe that we would sack NW and install a temporary manager

What about “Middlesbrough on Rhine” though?

This story does tie in with what a mate was telling me about a month ago. From a good source NW has lost the dressing room.

Folks talk about investment in the summer.. this didn’t include a defender or a left back. The reason we are 6 points off 4th place is our defence. IT’S OUR DEFENCE

Trolls and rumours will be the reason Warnock calls it a day nothing else imo.

A huge amount of online fans seem totally enamoured with ‘the vision of Kieran Scott’ to the point they are willing to completely dismiss our results being nigh on identical to those with Aitor Karanka. I can’t stand the Daily Mail or the online fans who’ve been out to get Warnock fired before the season started (the same sort that wanted rid of Southgate in the Euros after the group stage)

If Warnock calls it a day we will not benefit.. a new manager will have the same squad with the same problems then improve as a result of players coming back from injury and a transfer window (same as Warnock)

The only difference will be with a new manager will be that we will look to write this season off and expect to smash the season next season.

The expectancy of a ‘proper plan’ would go against every almost every managerial decision Gibbo has made. Everything has been ill thought out and unplanned. Here we are, nothing will change.
