Warnock facing a fight to save his job if we lose at West Brom [Mail/heman/advent/various]

The objective was playoffs given the investment this summer and if we fail to win today expect Warnock to go as we failing, the squad doesn't seem to be behind Warnock that much and reports of players falling out with him
We haven’t had the players behind Warnock.. we’ve had them on the treatment table!

Cushioning the blow? : "Unfortunately for me and the fans, we just don’t know which version of us will turn up" (!!!)
You`re the Manager and you dont know?

Neil Warnock is not ready to surrender Middlesbrough's promotion chances just yet

Neil Warnock understands frustration and sympathises with Middlesbrough fans, but insists he's not ready to give in yet.

Boro's season continues to underwhelm, with the play-off hopefuls currently 14th in the Championship table.

With a combination of costly errors and what Warnock feels is a lot of bad luck, Boro just can't seem to kickstart a credible promotion push.

And ahead of the trip to West Brom, the Boro insisted: “Most people expected us to lose at Luton and expect us to lose at West Brom, but I’ve never felt like that.

“I think we can win every game me, if we can play like we’re capable of.

“Unfortunately for me and the fans, we just don’t know which version of us will turn up. You can’t legislate for some of the mistakes we’re making.

“It must be terrible watching us as a fan at the minute because you’re up one minute and then down the next. I think if we’d have been 4-0 up at Luton at half time you couldn’t have said we didn’t deserve it.

“But to concede three in five minutes, we got what we deserved because we defended like school kids.

“I don’t think I could do much more than I already am. I’ve just got to persevere and keep going.

“I don’t want to give up at the moment, so it is difficult.

“We’ve been very unlucky to be so decimated, and I do feel like I’ve run over a black cat at times.”

A recent three-match winning run moved Boro up into sixth before their two consecutive defeats, but it did at least show how quickly things could change if Warnock's side could sort their form out.

It's such a tight division still, despite the fact we're now more than a third of the way through the campaign.

“We’ve just got to try and not get too far away from that top six," Warnock continued.

“At the moment, I don’t think there has ever been a closer league.

“And I am pleased about that because it means we’re not getting left too far behind.

“Promotion has always been my objective at this club. That doesn’t change.

“It’s just disappointing. I must admit, at times this season I don’t think I’ve deserved what I’ve got.

“But it’s just one of those things. I have got it and I’ve just got to get on with it.

“It’s my job to try and lift people and drive them on to try and get better results.”

Folks talk about investment in the summer.. this didn’t include a defender or a left back. The reason we are 6 points off 4th place is our defence. IT’S OUR DEFENCE

Newy, there are only 6 teams in the division at the moment that have conceded fewer than us.
Yes we have let in some stinkers recently, and individual defensive errors have cost us.
Yes we’ve had a lot of injuries at the back but Peltier, Bamba and Howson have all done decent jobs stepping in. I really don’t think our defence is the problem, although I accept we will be much better with Bola, Dijksteel and Fry back.

They’ve done decent jobs they are decent in those positions.. but they don’t get in over Dijksteel, Fry & Bola the cumulative effect of not having those players available in the squad has cost us.

But this is not a board member speculating or claiming to be ITK.

A poster has simply linked an online newspaper article.
Yes and Roofie is a great poster, but there isn’t a game goes by which doesn’t carry a ‘Warnock’s last chance’ tag in one form or another.

If it’s ok to speculate, which it is, then it’s ok to comment on the speculation.

I do think not having them available has cost us, but not to the same degree you do. It’s all open to interpretation.
For example, you think those injuries excuse our results to a degree, whereas I think they are irrelevant and the rot set in second half of last season with some shocking performances. I think the players look like they don’t believe in what they are being asked to do, and I believe the many mistakes and poor performances are down to a lack of confidence, lack of belief in the system, lack of management and coaching. It’s sad but it’s stale and we are going nowhere other than backwards, with different players being blamed by the manager each week, morale clearly an issue and players in very poor form (Tav).
The buck stops with the manager in my opinion. Not the injuries. Not the players (because that’s football and footballers often stop playing well for managers when ut gets stale or they don’t believe in the tactics/project etc. It’s wrong but it happens and you can’t change 20 players ahead of one manager)
The buck stops with the manager. After all, he should have kept our defensive cover (Spence, Coulson) or insisted on replacements,

I hope we win today and warnock goes. I don't think either will happen.

I am not sure I am buying the inconsistency thing either. We play better against the poorer teams, as all teams do. We are not good enough to match the top half of the table.

I think you’re reading too much into it as far as confidence and belief in a system we’ve had a back three of Howson, Bamba & Peltier

I don’t see Spence & Coulson as defensive cover., not the sort that be needed. Neither is a left sided centre back or a ‘proper left back’

From the gesticulation and frustration from Warnock directed at Steve Gibson after the Dijksteel injury I do not think it was Warnock’s choice to be left wanting in those departments. He’s also mentioned bringing Peltier and Bamba in.. perhaps against the thoughts of the recruitment department. Injuries to Dijksteel—Fry—Hall—Bola has meant they have proved invaluable in us salvaging any shred of the season.

Here’s to the return of our first choice back line and the addition of some much needed reinforcements in January.. UTB!

You lot are completely deluded.
We are decimated by injury and suspension.
The team picks itself,.
Why you think sacking Warnock changes that God only knows....
RIDICULOUS 🙄

I reckon they’ve picked up on his quote about the record:
‘In another 16-17 games, it will be the most Football League games. Hopefully I can keep my job a bit longer.'
