Mowbray likely to be leaving Blackburn

Their fans have wanted him out for ages from what I understand, strange really given what he’s done for them, not sure where they believe they should be.
Like all football fans they want and expect their team to win and entertain. You are right almost 100-% of their fans have lost faith with Mogga

A shame for him that there was the traditional post January collapse, because Blackburn were in a great position at the turn of the year.

I'm sure I read that he was wanting to be closer to home again anyway.
What a man, what a legend, love the bloke, he always comes across as a caring bloke, no malice in him at all, no matter what questions they threw at him & tried they may to get any crumb of discontent

Such an honourale man

With Mowbray I wonder if his downfall I could be to do with not placing enough emphasis on sports science I.e that’s why his teams run out of steam during the back end of the season.

He generally makes good signings, has his teams playing good football but for some reason they fade away.

Somewhat related, I think that’s one of Klopps string points, of course he also makes good signings and gets his team playing good football but they seem to do well regarding injuries. (Apart from last season when every centre back seemed to get injured one after each other). The likes of Alison, Trent, Robertson, VVD (except last season), Fabinho, Henderson, Salah, Mane etc seem to always be available.

Player injuries have always seemed to have been the responsibility of the player but I wonder how much the manager / coaching staff etc have to do with it.

If we had a long term vision and had backed him and stuck with him through thick and thin, we would be in a better position than we are and Gibbo have saved himself c£100m.

We haven't had a striker for decades who scored 20 league goals in a season.
Mowbray has signed two for Blackburn for about half what we wasted on Assombalonga.

Yes - Mowbray could make a decent career as a sort of reverse Sam Allardyce, he’s a really good manager from August-Feb.

On injuries, you notice with a lot of tight teams with a good manager who are playing for something, they have less players missing games for niggling injuries. It’s one of the signs of things going wrong at a club for me, when teams can’t put a consistent team out and players keep missing games.

I think most pro footballers will have some niggle 90% of the time, a few of them talk about it in their autobiographies that they’re never truly 100% fit or without pain. But no Liverpool player is going to give up their place in the team when they’re gunning for four trophies. Was the same with Fergie’s Man United, no-one missed games. Burnley, West Ham, Leicester’s title team and Wilder’s Sheff Utd had it too. Contrast that to Man United now and Pogba disappearing after ten minutes, they’ve got loads of players out with little injuries - they could play through it if they wanted to, but they don’t. Serious injuries are different obviously, but a long injury list of small injuries is an early sign of a club going wrong.

Like, Alen Boksic (I still love him) missed loads of games for us with little strains. I bet he would have been fine for a Champion’s League final!

Great interview by Mogga seemed quite emotional but kept his integrity. Compare him to some off the stuff Warnock has came out with since leaving.

Just to jump in on the injury thing again - Jadon ‘£80m’ Sancho is apparently out for the rest of the season with tonsillitis 😂
