Mowbray likely to be leaving Blackburn

With Mowbray I wonder if his downfall I could be to do with not placing enough emphasis on sports science I.e that’s why his teams run out of steam during the back end of the season.

He generally makes good signings, has his teams playing good football but for some reason they fade away.

Somewhat related, I think that’s one of Klopps string points, of course he also makes good signings and gets his team playing good football but they seem to do well regarding injuries. (Apart from last season when every centre back seemed to get injured one after each other). The likes of Alison, Trent, Robertson, VVD (except last season), Fabinho, Henderson, Salah, Mane etc seem to always be available.

Player injuries have always seemed to have been the responsibility of the player but I wonder how much the manager / coaching staff etc have to do with it.
Klopp has spent more than £500m at Liverpool and you think the difference between him and Mogga is sports science?

Interesting to see where Rovers end up next season.
Good luck Mogga wherever you go. You deserve it.
I can see them struggling, thus big problems with FFP that the (obviously) one-off sale of their training ground kept at bay, but they'll be cashing in on who they can in the summer, plus some big players have left on a free.

The Venkys are losing about £15m a season apparently.

The only silver lining is that they seem to have some real talent coming through the academy - if only the had a manager who had a great track record of bringing in young players, eh.

As if you’ve took that from what I’ve said. How can Klopp and Mogga be compared. It’s be like comparing Ferguson and Gary Megson, or Pep and Chris Hugton. There’s no comparison to be made really is there.

As I said, I think Mogga is a decent manager, makes good signings and plays good football. But his teams seem to fade away at the end of the season, therefore I pondered if that could be due to Sports Science.

I then used Klopp (or more likely his team) as an example of a team who may possibly be using Sports science better.

Just to make it absolutely clear for you, I suggested that sports science may be Mogga’s weakness. I also suggested sports science may be one of Klopps strong points.

Out of curiosity, do you think the difference between Mogga and Klopp is the £500m Klopp has spent?

I do find it fascinating how Liverpool’s bad luck with so many of their players suffering from asthma is in direct contrast to how many of their players seem to be available to play every game.
Is he not just using it as tool to gain an advantage? I’m assuming there isn’t any rules against players having inhalers and he is using that to his advantage.

It could be said that it’s cheating, certainly bending the rules.

I wouldn’t be opposed to Wilder doing it.

I think the difference between "good" managers and "bad" managers is often money.

Can you see really see Tony Mowbray at Hartlepool?

I guess Coventry were in league two, and he too Blackburn from league one.

Hartlepool in the championship playoffs by 2025/26 season?
There's only his ego stopping him from managing a local side.

He'll be comfortable enough off now not to need to chase the money, putting his experience to good use in a local club would only gain him even more respect.

Third round of the FA cup.
Boro away to pools with Tony Mowbray as manager.
Back where the rise from the ashes started with the man who was captain of the team that did it.

Why would it be his ego? Surely Tony Mowbray has earned the right to decide what he wants to do next.

He stated he wanted to be back home. If he wants to stay in management there'll be jobs locally for him. He'll have a choice but lower down than he's used to.

The 'ego' reference wasn't a dig, it's part of us all. We can all make choices, we don't have to do anything to earn them.

If Sheffield Wednesday wish to get rid of Darren Moore, and Mowbray is interested, that would be a great job for him. I'm sure he'll be able to get home more often too, as he has alluded to.
