traditionally yes they are, this is their 8th season of top flight football in 120 years, FA/League Cup, they've lost 1 final and 1 semi-final and their greatest ever player is Bobby Zamora

This is a blip in their history and they will be back in the bottom 2 tiers within 10 years

well looking at their attendances today compared to 10 years ago, they clearly are newbie fans, never set foot in the Goldstone and I'm betting about 1 in every 500 fans travelled to Gills stadium when they were over there
