Aaron Connolly

Yet I'd rather that than Brightons ground. Absolutely nothing around it and you have to park 10 miles away and get a bus as its in a green belt.

I wouldn't say Boro's ground is 'rough'. I'd argue handy for pubs and transport (easy walk from town and station).

It depends what you want from an away day. I'd rather have easy access in a 'rough' area than a ground that's hard to get to but nice (whatever that means). Just look at Blackpool.. The whole area is absolute demise yet I can't wait😂
That's a good point. I was in the Brighton during the summer and wasn't expecting their ground to in that location. I actually think Brighton is a great city but it didn't feel like a football hotbed. Very cosmopolitan with a cafe culture.

Can't argue with that, they have the most difficult home ground to access. Hence the empty seats at the last game.

The area around the Riverside isn't good though. I didn't say it was rough, though some visiting fans have said that to me due to our fans behaviour at times.

It's just an ugly post industrial under developed area.

True. I suppose the image is very dependent on what part of the country you come from or team you follow.

You can find a 'bit of Middlesbrough' in most northern towns or cities. Then again you support Brighton or Fulham etc you'd probably turn a nose up at a lot of away days.

The Riverside has never been the same since the Tuxedo Royal went bust😂😂. I had some great pre match days in that establishment.

Potter: “Aaron, I want you play a little bit further away from Neal.”
Connolly: “How far away did you have in mind, boss?”
Potter: “Middlesbrough.”
Quite amusing.

Not very nice about us are they? Oh one fukkwit claims to have "changed trains in Middlesbrough" which seems unlikely, hey ho. Never been to Brighton but hear they have a nice if rather stony beach and some really cool buskers.

Mr. Connolly's squeeze aint no Mrs Karembeu.

Sounds like it will be a loan possibly with the option to buy. I can't recall ever seeing him kick a ball, let's see what you've got lad.

I quite like the aesthetics around our ground, the Stalag and Deutschland 83 vibes are exactly what we should be going for. Visiting fans should not enjoy coming, they should go home deafened and having suffered a humiliating and demoralising defeat. They should talk of nothing but the noise and how they never get anything when they play up here.

Just on the perception of Middlesbrough too. I remember a friend visiting the area a few years ago. He was on a course at Falck Nutec and the company had booked him into the Jury's Inn in Middlesbrough.

I met him one night and took him straight to Baker Street. The quality of the pubs and the warmth shown by those inside left a really positive impression. He'd initially said Boro is a bit rough isn't it?!

Baker Street, that's posh Boro along with the Zetland. Now, I thought I would never get to say that!

Genuinely amused reading the stuff on the Brighton board. Nothing against them at all but they really seem to see themselves as a footballing hotbed. I always thought of them as a small club tbh
If you think the Brighton fans are ahead of their station you should see the sense of entitlement on this board

I actually didn't know he was Irish. He'll be fine in the Teesside area after all.
Aye! Might suit him. I get peoples worry about the signing but I think he would improve us and give us another option. Wilder won’t put up with any *****.

greatest ever player is Bobby Zamora :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
more likely Mark Lawrenson, and fans favourite, Peter Ward.

this is the game that brought Aaron Connolly such high expectation

brightons training ground, based at Lancing

i hope he hits a goal a game and is a great success - we (Boro) have little to lose in bringing him here - the rest is up to Aaron

I was going to mention this on reply to @S7DiscoDown 's photo above.

Swapping Burgess Hill for Yarm is a move up in class. I'm qualified to know, having actually lived in both areas.

Adriana and Christian were pure class and had no complaints about swapping Monaco for Teesside. In fact the world's most attractive supermodel (IMHO) pished all over the Southern press trying to slag the area, when she said it's beautiful and the people are friendly and that she was brought up amongst industry in Slovakia so it's very much like home.

As it's Xmas I'll share my private Adriana 2000 summer collection with you all...

She was (is) absolutely gorgeous.

I might have imagined it but didn't we also unveil a huge banner at the stadium of her posing in a wonderbra?

That sounds a tad too sexist for our flag-bearers.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any pics of Bernie modelling the new strip candidates on any of my saved photos or any decent photos of the handsome Christian that would give him justice.

A quick search of Googs brings up some pics of what a classy couple they were together..
