I’m not so sure as I said he’s been a bit part at so called big clubs before and he’s done the playing abroad thing he was happy here he was playing he was settled.

It was crazy to jeopardise that.

So, I don’t know what he was offered here for a long term deal but let’s assume it was 30k week. I’d bet that Ajax offered him double that. And he wanted Boro to get somewhere close to the Ajax offer and we either couldn’t or wouldn’t - one of the two.

So, Chuba gets his financial future sorted with that deal for his family. Easy decision really.
