And so the Chuba rumours start

Lots of talk about loan players heading back to their clubs not so much about our loanees returning. Regardless if Chuba stays or goes this has to be the season Josh gets a chance. Same for Sol. Not sure about Hoppe and Coulson but decisions need to be made there.

Had high hopes for Coulson at the start of Woodys manager year, On fire in the pre seasom friendlies and decent for the fist 10 games .... hard to say what happened

25mil.....with one year left. I'd frankly 'start the car'. That's after one good season in his career.

You can do a lot with that kinda money.

yes we could

gestede
fletcher
assomboll ocks
etc etc the list goes on.

Id rather keep Chuba thankyou. I dont understand boro fans sometimes I really despair. Pay 500 or 600 for a season ticket and then will happily sell our best players for a fee they seem worthwhile.

youbwould think the fans got some of the fee the way some go on.

I think we could get him for less. He has done nowhere near enough to warrant a higher fee than that.
Love it if you were right but I suspect Villa would put the phone down. I think the only chance of that sort of money is if it’s with substantial add on’s.

I’d say £20m which would include add ons would be a fair price of a player with potential but a £20m outlay will never happen I don’t think.

Villa flatly refused to sell him as part of the loan deal, and Preston (supposedly) had a £10m bid turned down flat. Can't see £12m being anywhere near .....with todays ridiculous transfer fees I reckon £15/16m plus add ons would possibly pique their interest.

Not having ago at you Wez, but does Nixon really think we believe he just rang Steve Gibson and said "What do you want for Akpom?"
We need a clear plan in place for Chuba that doesn't become a long drawn out affair, we either pull out all the stops to get him sign a new contract and build our team round him or unfortunately more likely sell him for as much as possible and trust Scott and Co to bring quality in.
I suspect Carricks use of the loan market again will be pivotal to getting us promoted.
Pre season will hopefully give us an insight into whether Sol Brynn,Josh Coburn, Hayden Coulson and the like will be part of the squad moving forwards.

If the club is looking at automatic promotion next season then Akpom is a key player. If we get promotion, its worth £100m apparently, which puts any loss of transfer fee in perspective. Plus in that scenario Akpom would probably want to sign a new contract.

From Akpom's perspective, this has been the best season of is career. He's been around for a while and not hit these heights. For any player to succeed they need to be at the right club, with the right manager who rates you, who will play you in your best position and play a system that suits you. That club for Akpom right now is Boro. There is no guarantee that he will succeed if he goes anywhere else particularly to a Prem club where there will be more competition for places. Lots of good players have been bought by bigger clubs and spent their careers warming the bench. If I was Akpom I would want to spend at least another season at Boro under Carrick. He would still only be 28 at the end of it and in his prime. Another season of 21 goals plus will give him greater bargaining power. Boro should offer him a new contract with the understanding that if we dont get promoted he can go elsewhere. Win-win alround.

I’d rinse em for £40m. Cheeky *****. Look at the going rate for similar players. If he did go you want to at least to replace him and sign another on top for the inconvenience. If it came to negotiation we need to be brutal

Personally I wouldn't sell him and certainly not £15 million
It's the sad reality of what type of club we are now, and what type of club we're always going to be when competing in the Championship.

I think £15m is a fair valuation. He's had one outstanding season in his entire career. There are no guarantees he will have a similar impact next season.
