Are Sunderland fans the most delusional fans in the country?

The only Boro fans in Darlo moved there. Most of the natives are either Newcastle fans or glory supporters.
Most of Darlo are boro ie more than half.

I would say Hartlepool have less boro fan’s percentage wise.. maybe the Newcastle and Sunderland fans make it seem slightly more anti boro.. on the whole I would say favourable towards.. plus plastic Newcastle and Sunderland fans as they live on Teesside.

Redcar is mostly boro.. Stockton maybe more so..

North Yorkshire.. has to be mainly boro.. right?

There aren’t that many Boro fans Newy, id say with certainty it would barley be 10% but I’d be surprised if it was even that , I lived there for 15 years, other than a bunch getting the train through for the match never came across many, and those generally moved to Darlo or their dads were from Boro etc. was far more Newcastle shirts about on match days than any other club topped up by a load of Glory supporters in Arsenal, City, Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea tops etc

No as delusional as Mowbray with his storm babet excuse. Leicester away next for the mackems. I can see mogga getting his p45 shortly

They'd be idiots to turn on Mowbray but you'd be well annoyed if our manager started blaming storm Babet when you've got an indoor training pitch to work on.

Not really sure why some say County Durham is Sunderland territory like . Anyone who has worked there aside from South County Durham (where we have some decent support ) knows there are as many mags there as Sunderland . Whereas Northumberland is Newcastle .

Sunderland are no where near as big as they think they are . I mean if it wasn’t for their cheaper ticket structure I reckon theyd struggle to hit over 40k on the regular. In their peak Keane years , when their price structure resembled more ours , I think their average was 36k. This was in the premier league and they were established . In our premiership season too, they only made 200k more in ticket sales too than us . They’ve also spent a significant amount of their time in the championship and league 1, not something you’d expect for a massive club with the resources they claim they have

If they charged more in line with other teams, a 40k stadium would be enough for them in my opinion

Some of the posts in the 'Boro forum' thread really haven't aged well 🤣

In my lifetime (40+ years) they have been the third team in the north east.

There was a 5 year spell when we had Strachan, Mowbray when they were in the league above but other than that I've always felt like we have been better, more ambitious and successful.

Even in the league above they were struggling like buggery - highest finish was 10th but mostly hovering around the 13-17th places. Turd was then finally flushed as we were on the up with Karanka.

In fact the turd was so big a double flush was needed - no Buck Rogers toilet for the mackems.

This. There’s very little between us that’s why I don’t get this belitttement from our fans that they have some huge area compared to us. They don’t, I think with similar ticket pricing our crowds would be neck and neck

Only seems like yesterday they were praising their summer recruitment and using us an example of what happens when you don't buy the right mix of youth and potential.
