Ban every kid that ran on the pitch.

It’s vex

I haven’t seen a single suggestion of a life time ban. My personal suggestion would be a 3 year ban for the kid and the parent.

If that first kid hadn’t ran onto the pitch yesterday there wouldn’t have been as much added time, and we don’t concede that late goal which could literally cost us a play-off place due to goal difference and countless millions through not getting promotion.

Are you happy about that? So some entitled brat can get a selfie with a player?

The club has tried asking nicely for years and it hasn’t worked, I understood the scenes on full time after Brighton when we were actually promoted but this whole kids going onto the pitch to get shirts and selfies needs to stop and I’d support the club taking a very hard line on it.
Completely correct, this ‘they are only kids’ thing doesn’t wash, it wasn’t a little kid, the kid knew exactly what they were doing and the parent was complicit, as someone has stated the parent posting on Facebook, let’s get them identified, names to the club and banned, Chris Wilder certainly didn’t see it as harmless fun, he was on the pitch, going across ready to do the Stewards job for them, one day a player will get stabbed and like anything else, then there will be reactionary security measures put in place.

It's getting to be a joke now, running onto the pitch for selfies and facebook posts. Nothing wrong with a pitch invasion when it's more of a spontaneous reaction to actually achieving something, but not for probably coming 7th :)

Where's Brian Clough when you need him ?

A boy ran on the pitch from the north stand at the end and made his way back with no steward intervention. His dad gave him a hug and they spent the rest of the time waiting for the players at the front in full view of the stewards.

This season has been ridiculous with the standards of the stewards. There’s a bloke not far from us who smokes every week and nothing is said. I’ve also witnessed a number of fans openly drinking in full view of the stewards and they say nothing.

They are always looking for new stewards, they cannot do right for wrong. They are either weak or heavy handed in supporters eyes, very rare they get praise for their actions due to idiot fans who think they know better.

Their job is to stop people entering the field of play. One yesterday moved to stand on the stairs on the blow of the whistle at half time!?

Complete moron

As directed, no doubt, by their Senior Steward. I have no qualms with stewards. I have no idea of their limitations and legal rights but obviously not enough to stop idiots doing what they want in the ground.

‘Go stand on the stairs so people have to cross over as they go down’

Oh and if you see anyone moving towards the advertising boards or climbing over.. stand perfectly still.

Ask the Club if it concerns you THAT much. I'm not a Steward and don't aspire to be one. But if you don't like how it's run feel free to join them and change things.

You all should be ashamed of yourselves. They're kids getting excited and getting involved, that's all. They're not doing harm, that comes from adults, as we've seen all too often.
There's a big difference between spontaneous acts of emotion (or collective acts of joyful exuberance after the whistle) and what was obviously a planned incursion to take a selfie.

Why couldn't he have waited a few minutes?

Or stayed behind to get a selfie/autograph in the car-park?

Any non-medical or safety related pitch incursion during play should be met with a ban.

Legally they're allowed to use reasonable force to remove someone. I suppose the problem is that what constitutes "reasonable" is subjective and even more so when dealing with children.

Add in the fact most are just doing this as part-timers only on a match day (they're effectively volunteers really) and you can see why they're reluctant get involved. If it was a more regular problem I suppose the club could think about hiring fully trained/qualified event security, but not really worth it given how rarely it happens.

However that doesn't really explain why they and parent are not immediately ejected from the ground once they return to the stand.

I posted this on the other thread but it’s relevant here

I’m amazed we as a club haven’t been sanctioned yet as these pitch invasions esp in game ones are happening more and more and our stewards seem almost powerless to stop them.
