Absolutely this, throwing party politics aside, they have to take their medicine, they are not trusted, they are being viewed as inept, and broken as a party. They need a unity PM, to bring things back together and to weed out the extremists that Johnson brought in, to break the ERG, otherwise they won't be in charge for a very very long time. Johnson will purely sow divisions deeper in their party, not just MP vs MP but the parliamentary party vs the conservative membership and membership vs potential voters.
 
Was at the match today and talking to a lad I've known for over quarter of a century.....he had his own buissness ,retired now ,and started discussing The blob coming back.
" We'll, you do have to admit he has charisma" he said to me with deadly seriousness ..." He's the only one who can pull the country together, look at the state of the labour party, that would be a disaster"
My blood was boiling and gently told him to please don't mention politics to me again.....and there's the problem, what chance is there?
 
For what its worth, my take is as follows:-

MP’s vote Johnson out, Johnson talks his cincinnatus speech.
Next, Truss gets selected by the MP’s due to Johnson brigade.
Truss promises stupid irresponsible promises that she and all MP’s know are frankly impossible to fulfill.
Truss gets elected by thick membership.
Truss trashes economy for a guaranteed £115k per year and resigns in a 💩 show.
Cincinnatus, sorry Johnson gets the call to make the comeback he spoke of.

Reality of it all is we have all been subjected to the biggest con trick of all time. It was all part of the plan from Johnson and his cabal. Duping the public is their greatest skill. This imho was planned and Truss was a part of the plot.

Johnson will like his hero Churchill make his comeback. The Tories have messed with us to feel the messiah is needed to save our nation. The sad thing is people will think it too far fetched, but the reality is, it was all smoke and mirrors to make the thicko’s believe in the resurrection of Johnson as being more important and necessary than ever.

A sad day for Britain if he pulls it off.

I struggle with you using the term thicko at the end of that nonsense. Johnson was kicked out because he was an electoral liability. It really is as simple as that. I very much doubt any serious political commentator would agree with you.
 
I think there is a good chance that the party members would vote Boris in if he managed to get 100 backers - that’s his biggest challenge.

Then he would possibly have to go again when the Privileges Committee report comes out.

Nothing would surprise me anymore…

This. Johnson is an absolute certainty if he gets the 100 and it goes to the shire loons. The only way they could stop him is for Sunak to give some votes to Mordaunt to ensure he comes third.
 
Johnson is standing, so obviously feels he has 100 backers.

Buckle up, it’s going to be an insane ride.

If sufficient Tory MPs object to Boris we could of course end up with another GE.

I am very sure you weren’t struggling with anything.

I am well aware why Johnson was kicked out. I am talking about the dirty tricks post that. You may see it as a sorry conspiracy theory of sorts, but in the mirky world of politics shady stuff like this goes on, backroom deals aplenty.

Truss was shoed in to the last two by lots of Johnson supporters late on, members knew which side Johnson was on. I just pray he hasn’t got his 100 MP’s and it is more fibs to create the myth so more vote at the last minute as they scramble for political scraps like flies round a cowpat

I think you need to get some balance in your listing coluka

You think the drop off the cliff off public support for Johnson was orchestrated? You think the mp voting was rigged to put truss in front of the wider membership? You think she tanked the economy, resulting in the worst polling the tories have ever seen was orchestrated?

To what end? The tories are done until they can reinvent themselves as a more centrist party. You think the tory mp's orchestrated this? They can't even organise track and trace with an unlimited budget.
 
The Tories need a massive clear out.. I doubt if Sunak will have the balls to do it mind.

Well, Starmer appears to be doing it now.. strengthening the right wing of the party, forcing out the left. Taking up ‘the centre’ - Labour will end up resembling something closer to Cameron & Cleggs coalition government. Hopefully the SNP, Greens & Lib Dems will exert enough influence (without buggering off) to see us in a decent position.

At the moment the absolute whoppers of the Labour Party are coming across as competent, steady and quite quick witted. They are Labour in name only but infinitely better than whatever the Conservatives have now become.

More monster raving looney party with BNP vibes than only thing resembling the one nation conservatives they purport to represent!

New Labour, Blue Labour.. Liberals. Bloody Liberals!!

It do feels very much like American politics now, right or further right.
Further fight is completely bat shyt crazy, spaghetti haired fascists!
God only knows what they’ll become next.. it seems they just get worse and worse. Beyond parody.
