Britt accused.

Britt is by far a better all round player than Akpom. Akpom is lightweight which is not reqd for a lone striker role ( fletch would struggle due to this ) Britt is no Viduka but the best we have for lone striker

When we last got promoted Nugent was our top scorer in the league with 8.

In all comps Stuani had 11.

While it certainly doesn't hurt to have a prolific striker it's not essential in order to get promoted. It's more important that the team as a whole scores enough goals.
............ and even more importantly stops them going in at their end. Solid defence is the foundation, without it you're buggered. (y)

Emile Heskey was a 1 in 5 striker in the premier league - there is a difference!

Will we get promoted with our sole striker (as we play one up front) scoring around 10 goals in a full season, we need someone getting 15-20 and Akpom will get nowhere near that number.
I know there a difference in level but the overall contribution at the specific level may be equal. Ie a 1 in 5 striker in the championship who contributes to overall team function and success at that level is equivalent (Level Allowed for) to a 1 in 5 striker who does the same at premier level. It’s at respective levels.

I know I’m being a bit pedantic, sorry, it’s just my mindset today. Sorry.

I never criticised his performance. I criticised his reaction as captain. He is meant to be diffusing situations not chasing after people goading them. I'll never change my opinion on him. He is a fraud who has and is still robbing this football club. over £7m in wages. For what return.
He reacted because it appeared from where he stood that Ribeiro had stomped on Saville. He got the player away from his man thats all. Finally the ref saw it for what it was, the lad lost it.

Yes I think he’s had enough of the guy and just lifted him up to remove him, the lad took offence to that.

I’d have to watch again but I’m sure he didn’t bite him.

No, Britt didn't bite him. I've just watched the highlights and Robeiro committed 4 red card offences before finally being red carded. He actually booted Tav in the back, off the ball while Tav was on the floor, I think that was before the first headbutt. Then the attempted stamp on Sav possibly with studs down the inside of his thigh, followed by the second headbutt. Loose cannon that lad.

I don't buy that Britt is a better all round player. He has his little spells where he looks decent like today, but then he has loads of games where he couldn't trap a bag of cement and looks like he has never played football in his life. Akpom has sounder technique, he just doesn't get into goal scoring positions very often.

For me Morsy was an excellent signing
Everyone was saying he was rubbish after saturday, but no one came out of that game with any credit.

Its been a while since we've had anyone to do the dirty work that Morsy does, and I still don't think we've seen even remotely close to his best yet.

In fact, we have never done the dirty side of the game very well, until this season. Breaking up the game, time wasting, taking the ball into the corner etc. I think they call it professionalism, but Warnock has us doing it and it worked a treat last night.

And we had the best defensive record in all four leagues as well didn't we? Which helps.

I've never said anything negative about him, he'll have an off day like everyone of us do, but when he's inform he's immense

I'm not saying you did Erimus, but loads on here were. I like the look of him, and think the best is still to come.

He looked good before his injury, but since he came back he hasn't been great. Hopefully this will be him back to his best and maintaining it. A big well done to Britt too, I've made my feelings clear on him, but credit where it's due.

I cant believe Roberio stayed on after the kung fu kick on Tav in the first half.

Which for a “striker” is damning indictment

I am in the britt was excellent last night. I loved watching him wind up Robiro, the little nark deserved all he got. As for him biting, does anyone actually believe that Britt would do that. He may be rubbish on a 1-1 with the keeper, but he is not a dirty player, quite the opposite he comes across as a thoroughly decent bloke.

If he was in my team and an opposition player was in my face, I would expect my team mates to step up too. If I got stamped on, or an attemted stamp I would also expect my team mates to react.

NF got less than they deserved. They should have had zero points and at least 2 sending offs.

I hope Britt comes out at the weekend with the same fire in his belly
Who doesn't
