The fitness levels of the players are frankly a disgrace. That's not Wilder's fault its Warnock and his laissez-faire attitude to sports science "I didn't realise players weren't eating breakfast" etc.
Hard to make an immediate impact when you have to try and implement a few basics just to get players in the same condition as everyone else in the division.
I don't think it's any coincidence our form under Warnock fell off a cliff after he'd had them for 6 months or that we consistently fade in the second half of games.
We'll get there now we've a manager who takes all this stuff seriously. Wilder has had slow starts at other clubs and come good. I'd be more concerned if we were playing terribly. A modicum of luck and we'd have 4 or 6 points. I think we've conceded every shot on target so far. That's not going to continue.
It's hard to believe when we've thrown away yet another win with pathetic mistakes but there are reasons for optimism.
