It's a dangerous sign when people are happy to see others forced into having medical treatment they don't want.
But it’s not though no one want compulsory vaccinations but this is merely saying that those who work with vulnerable people should have it. So very different argument. It's a dangerous sign when people are happy to see others forced into having medical treatment they don't want.
I would be uncomfortable supporting this zorro. I get why people would but I just couldn't.But it’s not though no one want compulsory vaccinations but this is merely saying that those who work with vulnerable people should have it. So very different argument.
I think you are right about ethnic origins of London NHS staff. We were applauding them last year now some want them to be stripped off their livings. That ignored the simple fact that we can't afford to lose the staff we have got, staff that have risked their lives to save others with limited ppe and governmental support.I'd be interested to see the racial breakdown of those who have chosen not to have the vaccines.
London has a very cosmopolitan population and I'm sure that is reflected in the NHS staffing. We've heard from other ethnic communities that there is a reticence to get vaccinated so it would not surprise me if that didn't extend to some NHS staff.
I'm all for people getting vaccinated for the benefit of society, but I'm not willing to back people in the NHS losing their jobs over it.

Dood that is the elephant in the room right there but no one dare address it. We know from statistical evidence that there is a clear divide on demographics.I'd be interested to see the racial breakdown of those who have chosen not to have the vaccines.

I think we would all support freedom of choice along with education, at least I would hope so.Dood that is the elephant in the room right there but no one dare address it. We know from statistical evidence that there is a clear divide on demographics.
The first paragraph you typed is absolutely correct. I understand the duty of care doctors and nurses have and they could be exempt from that freedom of choice. I wouldn't employ a colour blind electrician. But... Make it a condition, perhaps, of new entrants to the profession, don't penalise those already in the profession, the men and women that have worked 100 hour weeks with limited ppe, watched thousands of their patients die, suffered the trauma of staying away from their families. They did all this for you and I zorro with a level of dedication that should be rewarded and held up as a light for the rest of us to aspire to. They shouldn't be fired on a political whim.I have never had an issue with someone not having the vaccine that’s personal choice I don’t agree with it but it’s their choice.
my issue is when people try to stop others taking it or using misinformation or down right prog and a to influence others.
What sort of consequences out of curiosity?I also agree that there should be a consequence for those who can be vaccinated but selfishly refuse then require inpatient care.
I think the 65% was both NHS and care home staff. The best area for fronting staff is teesside at 99% the worst is London at 78%. The average is almost 98% i believe. Though to be fair bear heard different figures for London on the news yesterday, 65% I think was what was reported.
Are the government trying to vilify the nhs? I doubt it but it isn't the hot potato are making it out to be.
I think the figure was NHS and care home staff that was being quoted by two different people (on R4 and on Newsnight). The news are wrong I think bear. The figure for London front line is 78% i believe. I looked this morning.
You may be right, as I said I had a fairly quick look this morning and seen different numbers. Front line and all nhs staff are very different I assume.I think the figure was NHS and care home staff that was being quoted by two different people (on R4 and on Newsnight).
The vaccination uptake in London is very low compared with the rest of the country. You may be right, as I said I had a fairly quick look this morning and seen different numbers. Front line and all nhs staff are very different I assume.
Bill smokers for lung cancer? Bill drinkers for liver problems? Bill overweight people for just about any problem? It’s not an approach I’d like to take personally.I appreciate that, thats why i said it.
Anyway, The NHS is only free to those permitted, not everyone, but i understand your general point. However as you will know, it is only free for the treatments and drugs it is listed to provide or that a doctor or surgeon feels appropriate. I know the government would not charge, not even this one, but plenty are denied available treatment on the NHS now that can extend life or make life more bearable, be that knee replacements (where the overweight can be ordered to lose weight), cancer drugs to extend life etc, but like I say just my view and I know it won’t happen.
