Djed Spence deleted anything Boro related

He wants nothing to do with us - we want nothing to do with him - except receiving a decent fee. Frankly I have little respect for him so what he does, how he acts is a complete irrelevance

What are we loosing out on? He is one of the best players in the championship and certainly the best in his position. Also far better than anyone we currently have at the club which is why he is going to a team in the champions league. Yes the money is good for us but we’re loosing a player with a huge future
He will soon get found out in the Premier league, not half as good as he is hyped up to be

Daft young lad,bit of an ego problem, now going to have too much money what can possibly go wrong plus going back to living in London might provide distractions. Can’t imagine Conte would tolerate anything less than 100 per cent professionalism so if what we are led to believe is true he may be in for a bit of a shock.
On the other hand he may have been managed better by Cooper at Forest and goes on to have a top career and looks back on his time at the Boro as the ‘kick up the backside he needed.
Good luck to him,I always feel a bit of pride when our ex players do well for themselves.

Look at the managers and players he’s played under while with us, it’s no surprise the first proper manager he’s played under has allowed him to thrive. That would have likely been with us had we got Wilder earlier. A young lad coming into a poor side with no experience will never show any consistency.
Jones has been inconsistent most of the season yet some like to think he’s the next Messi. Fact is we’re loosing the far better player for not exactly much of a fee either. Regardless of anyones opinion on him he would significantly improve this side if we had him next season
In fairness to the Boro we have a very good record of nurturing young players, maybe the culture at ‘big em up’ Forest suited Spence better than at the more ‘grounded‘ Boro?

Players come and players go, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, we should only get behind those players who want to be at our club.

As Warnock alluded to I think it could still go either way for him (although he's obviously set for life now).

It's all well and good being cocky and confident when your manager does nothing but blow smoke up your **** (and yes, probably rightly so) and you're in a good team playing to your strengths.

It's a different mental challenge when you hit setbacks. Will he respond to a different management style? How does he handle criticism? Given his reaction to us and Warnock he might have used it as motivation, but he also clearly doesn't like it. It bothers him a lot.

He won't always have the option of running away somewhere else to prove a point, he also needs to be able to stay and do it for a manager who might be the one giving him the home truths. Can he do that? Or will he be petulant and sulk?

I think you probably need a bit of humility to make the step up to a club like Spurs from the championship. No-one is going to be telling you how brilliant you are, you're going to have to earn that respect. I would expect any incidences of unprofessionalism (turning up late to training etc) are going to be stamped on very quickly.

The price tag is no easy thing to handle either. Any drop off in form and that will (unfairly or not) be used as a stick to beat him with him by fans and media. Can he do it when fans aren't idolising him?

If he goes there focussed, determined to learn and with a humble attitude he could be a very good player for them. His social media persona and his career history to date suggests that might be a problem for him, we'll see.

Just look at delle Ali

Bottom line is a move to Spurs is very much in the balance due to delightful Daniel wishing to play games. Spence needs to realise his preference doesn’t matter a fig if Spurs continue to behave in this manner. I would love to see us transfer him to anyone but Spurs - although this will be a problem. I would be surprised if there was an early conclusion to his transfer.

When do players report back for training.
Surely he is still our player and as such will be back here till any transfer goes through.
That should be fun.

Doing a deal with Spuds is probably the worst/hardest one. Levy is notorious for being hard to get a deal done with. He simply won't budge.

I imagine they are offering ridiculous payment plans with only half up front. Probably structured over 4 years.

The good thing is that other clubs want him. The fact he wants to go to spurs is pretty irrelevant if they don't meet our valuation. What's he going to do? Come back to Boro?.

Forest will buy him in a flash. I actually think its a better move for him in terms of game time.

Frankly I just want him sold so we can crack on with our transfer buisness. I can't be the only one watching him still playing mid June for the U21s just thinking 'don't get injured'. It would proper scupper our plans if he did an 'Ameobi'.

my guess is Cooper gave him a lot of rope as he wasnt his player .... the rope might not be as free with Spurs

Coopers experience is with young players and how to get the best out of them. The Forest captain was quoted as saying he kills the players with kindness.

A different approach to Warnock. He'll find Conte different if he goes to Spurs.

Based on what? Clearly one of the best players in this league, done it consistently with a side that ended up promoted plus against premier league opposition in the cup and rightly had most big clubs chasing him.

Done it consistently, he's had 1 good season in his life.
