Djed Spence tweet…

I cant remember a time when a player, Boro or otherwise, has been praised by the media, lauded so much and linked with big clubs and a big money move but the fans of the club actually want rid of him and can't wait for him to go.

Usually fan bases are split, there's usually some calling for the club to persuade the player to stay and perform for them but with Spence everyone i speak to want him gone and want us to get as much money for him, asap.

Speaks volumes about him or, the publics opinion of him based off his social media and if i was a fan of Spurs, Arsenal etc i'd be certainly questioning why Boro fans are so eager to cash in.

Also the fact that £££ from him will probably be used to solve several problem positions with his own role not even being one of those. Persuading him to come back to us is so far down the priority list.

Yeah think you're right. The lad never looked like a 10-20m player with us, he had potential but i didn't ever think he'd be in this sort of conversation after one season. I think if it was someone who played every game for us last year it might be different but it's because he wasn't here last year he's seen as a lost cause im guessing, its strange though can't ever remember a situation like it

Am I missing something here; it's a cheeky quip, nothing more.

IS this what counts as a "Twitter spat"? Glad I don't bother with it.

Normally "Twitter spats" are between two people who like /respect each other, and do it in order to keep themselves in the public eye (Piers Morgan V's Alan Sugar as an example).

However it's known that Warnock & Spence do not have the same relationship, and therefore I'd see it differently than a bit of "banter"

And btw wilder did want him back in jan. There was a vote amongst the players as to whether they thought it was a good idea. Guess what. Not one of them said they wanted him back.
I hope this is not true ( not saying you are lying or making things up btw). If employees in the the workplace get to decide which work colleagues they would prefer to work with it would be a terrible precedent. The number of players who have been successful at winning teams but were disliked by teammates must occur regularly (e.g. Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham)

Yeah, but the whole team disliking him is a different kettle of fish - Sheringham and Cole disliked each other, they weren't disliked by the rest of the Utd team.

Agree, that's a classy response from Colin, he's come across many like Djed before and gave him the benefit of his experience. I still don't think Djed is as good as he thinks he is and we'll see that next season whether it's EPL with Forest or on Spurs bench, or sulking with us. The reason Wilder didn't recall him was plainly because he said he wouldn't/didn't want to come back, as we've seen many times before you can't make a player play for you if he doesn't want to!

It is a great response from Neil in every way.
And his decision will make Middlesbrough around £20m.

Hope we can all stop talking about Spence and start to get excited about what he is going to buy us.
Yeah I was worrying that his response could of been so brutal it was gonna knock a few quid off haha!

Just hurry up and sell him so we can invest. If forest offerred 15million id take it.
Nah, need an auction to kick off. Let's see how desperate Forest are to sign him. I'd see what the interest is like early doors and play the waiting game not just accept first offer (unless it is a crazy one). Appreciate the flip side is getting the money in to reinvest asap but this is over to MFC to get the absolute best deal. Can we wait until late in the transfer window to get an extra couple of million......🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
