Djed Spence

The only thing about bringing him back is that his value is at its peak right now, if we bring him back and he can’t get a look in does it tank his value?

I would have snapped someone’s hand off for 5m in the summer but the way people are going on about him I reckon we could get more than that from a Premier League club.
I dont think his value has actually peaked yet, potentially at least, but then thats a judgement call and the club obviously thought he would improve, hence he was loaned and not sold.

If he comes back and tanks then yes, his value will obviously be diluted, but he's a talented lad and I've always thought he could play EPL football.

A few points

Forest looked poorer for not having Spence against us.

Spence's wages will not be high

Does Spence count as one of our 25 if he comes back?

Good points, but add to that the issue of a loan fee, which I'm pretty sure will have been built into the deal.

He does, as he's over 21.

It's not really a concern for us though.
We have players like Olusanya and Stojanovic that we can unregister from our squad without having any impact at all on our match-day squad, even assuming we don't move them on.

Browne, Ameobi and Fisher haven't played any football this season - could we also deregister if they are not back say in a month's time?

We could.

It's strange that we registered them in the first place given we had a strong idea that they'd not be playing until 2022 at the earliest and you can always register them in January if they recovered quicker than expected.

Browne will be back soon though, he'll either be loaned out or feature later on in the season.

Djed Spence 'happy' at Nottingham Forest as boss sets out transfer stance

I'd say bring him 'home' as long as his heads right and he isn't going to mope about texting his forest mates.

He makes us stronger and weakens a club who's in and around us. I simply don't see any benefits from loaning him to a rival(other than wage paid).

I wouldnt mid selling him and strengthening other areas if we can get a decent fee. Although don't see forest having enough.

The new issue is that he isn't going to start for us. Jones is a revelation at wingback. Just to highlight that he's actually been named in the champo team of the week for 3 weeks in the same position as Spence.

I can see why Wilder says its 'complicated'. It's not just a case of 'he's our player so get him back'.

The best outcome is probably a prem club offering decent money. We get a payday for a player who probably doesn't want to play for us. Also forest lose a decent wingback at the same time. Then we buy 2-3 players with that money. Everyone's happy👍

Can’t see anyone buying him because he’s already played for Boro and Forest this season. They wouldn’t be able to play him they would have to loan him to us or forest

He can’t play for anyone else though this season it’s us or Forest.

Could a swap be on the cards. Don’t know too much about NF but is there anybody worth having? I would suggest coleback but he’s 32

I suggested swaps earlier In the thread , swap for
Brennan Johnson ( we would be the winners there , but he is linked with a £14m move to Brentford so More likely to go there) or swap for
Joe Lolley, AM and quality player who could be surplus to them.OR
Ryan Yates- defensive midfielder who can play centre half.
3 deals that could suit both clubs.
CW will know what he wants and what's best for us.

I’d be amazed if we allow him to stay there onloan if he’s doing the business fir them. So right now I’d expect him to be starting against Mansfield
