Do you remember the best beer you’ve ever had?

I always remember my first pint of Oyster Stout from The Porterhouse in Dublin. Damn that was good!

The first pint of ice cold beer after a long journey to a hot holiday destination is always amazing too after you've gotten to your accommodation and unpacked etc etc and headed out for the first time.

Edit: And a big nod to the first time I tried handpulled Camerons Strongarm. Was in the Poverina in Normanby when i was 18 back in 1993 (approx). Lovely.

Roy Womble always kept a decent pint of Sam Smith’s Old Brewery Bitter at the Coble in Redcar in the late 70. It tasted like nectar to an 18 year old.

Drinking fresh beer on a pavement in Hanoi. Regularly topped up by hosepipe direct from micro brewery. About 30p a pint. Delicious 👍

Dentergems Wit was recommended to me and my mate in Antwerp in the mid 80s by a bloke working in the accommodation section of the tourist office. He was spot on, it was tremendous.

Flew from Teesside to Dublin in Jan 2001 starting a new chapter in my life. Had two hours before my flight to Cork so had my first stout in Ireland, a Guinness. Beautiful.

The free flow Harp Lager served. In S&N pubs in the 70s, if you got a good one you could sink a few, no problem.

More recently Sam Smith's organic lager, first tried it at a gig in the Waiting Room, since had it in a few places

Bitburger on a hot summer's day in Germany when I was about 16 or 17.
TT Landlord these days in a pub in York or in the Dales.

Guinness in Ireland when I was about 20

Tasted good, drank it none stop and only got merry.. the hangover was none existent.

It was like a fun sports drink!

Draught Tongerlo in Brussels. We found a cracking bar in the City Centre, I don't recollect leaving. I'm a big fan of Cooper's Ale in Australia too, enjoyed a few in my Father in Law's club in Sydney. In the UK probably Tetley's, by the brewery when I lived in Leeds, I thought Tetley's was **** when I lived in North Yorkshire.

Favourite ever beer - Castle Eden in the Empire. Never tasted as good anywhere else despite its general all-round greatness.

I reserve a special category for Bass. Best tasting one down here is the Roebuck in Burton, not far from the Coopers which serves it flat, which they love down this way, coz they're wrong. It's nice, but not Roebuck-gorgeous. Next best is my local (Harrington Arms, Thulston) but the clear winner for tradition, homesick blues, mad fridge-banked topped-up glory is the Sun Inn's, Stockton.

I want one, now.

I've had the Bass on 2 brewery tours to Burton. We had an hour to drink as much as we wanted at the end. I only had 6 pints as I didn't want to appear greedy. They then gave us carry-outs for the coach back to Nottingham!

Mine was when working in South Korea. I'd spent the evening at a fairly formal dinner with a free bar. It started winding down about 9pm so a few of us asked the Ship Agent to arrange taxis to the nearest pubs. The agent first arranged for us to go into an "adult" bar (which was pretty much as expected). The only woman with us was actually fine with it, but it was decided it wasn't the best choice. Next we walked into a typical Korean karaoke place, but most couldn't be bothered with that.

After about 40 minutes we finally found a normal place just to sit, chat and have a beer. I then had an ice cold Asahi for the first time and it was superb. I remember walking into Tesco at home two weeks later and being shocked it was stocked on the shelves as well!

After boistrous argumentative long shift an ice cold Ozujsko on the sea front in Volosko, Croatia
