Fao rob or anyone what the boro policy re vapes

I know it’s their job but given the aggression of some supporters when compared to the stewards hourly rate it’s probably not always worth the aggravation.
Any home fan showing aggression to stewards should get a very very long ban. If they lay hands on a steward or threaten it should be lifetime

Vzzzbx, I started vaping after not being able to give up the fags and I must have tried 20 times over the years. Stories such as the man who is vaping the equivalent of 120 fags a day are rare I think. I stopped smoking 18 months ago and have gone from using 18mg to 12 and now 6mg. In a month or two I will go to 3mg and in September zero. My plan is, once I get to Goa Airport for my return flight to Blighty, where my vape will be confiscated, is not to buy a new one. I do agree that they should only be used as a way to reduce or stop people smoking and should be regulated - plain packaging/tobacco or menthol flavours only/banned for sale to anyone under 18 (strictly enforced) etc.
There were other people who said they had helped them quit smoking as well. It was quite a well balanced discussion, the summary seemed to be that its a lot better than smoking, but being able to do it in more places meant that people did it more often, meaning they take in more nicotine which is what gets you hooked.

The majority of people i have seen vaping near me in the ground have been school age teenagers. I've never seen a steward have a word. Then again the stewards are going to have to be on the ball to see someone doing it in row 27 from the front of the stand...

Imagine you are an 18 year old kid working as a steward and you have to tell some ***ed up person who doesn’t care for the rules to stop vaping. They need support with suggestions such as yours.
I remember being at West Ham when there were arguments about who was responsible for the policing costs and therefore there were very few police and there were big fights going off with the stewards who were essentially kids expected to keep order. I’m not sure what the answer is but it can’t all be down to the stewards!

It's good to go back around this particular mulberry Bush again.

I agree that you probably shouldn't vape if the club have a rule that you shouldn't. Can't quite understand what the fuss is about though.

I go to St Helens a few times a season and they are sponsored by a vaping company so it is allowed there. No one seems to have a problem with it either.

I don't get why vaping is banned in places like footy stadiums. Like has been said further up this thread, stop the bag heads, racists and drunks then maybe target the few people that are vaping.

Right, off for a vape.
Because the majority of us don’t want to be breathing in that ***** and in an enclosed area like a football stadium you can’t really avoid it. It smells vile so why can’t anyone wanting to do it just go outside the ground?

It’s possible to stop that as well as the other behaviours mentioned, it’s not like we can only choose one thing to focus on

I posted the policy last week - they are not allowed.

Helena Bowman from MFC stated at the last fans firum

HB advised that smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is banned fully from the Riverside and where possible the club will take action against individuals using vapes. HB advised that the EFL are currently looking into a campaign to highlight that vaping is banned in stadiums and MFC will use various channels including the big screen, programme etc to remind fans that it is banned within our stadium.
HB advised that supporters who witness people using e-cigarettes should report it to a steward. Supporters using vapes will be given words of advice, but the Club reserves the right to take further action if the problem persists.

Well the 18 year old should be given training to prepare them for dealing with and de-escalating aggressive behaviour, otherwise they can’t do their job. no one is asking for them to grab some pushed up idiot and frog March them out. That’s the police’s job. The warning and bans can come the next day by letter

Whilst I agree in principle mart, that ain't gonna happen.

It is indeed - a discussion about vaping where it's banned. If you want a more general discussion, start a new thread

You're welcome
Let me just pop a cat in the coop. Banned is, probably, to strong a word. It means legally or officially prohibited. Prohibited means banned, a bit circular, or forbidden. Forbidden means not allowed or banned. So, we are left with one definition, not allowed. If the club ignore it, it's de-facto allowed, because the club allow it.

I should be a highly paid barrister,or indeed a poorly paid barrister.

If you read all the contributions - you will find its broader than that.
I`l post what I think is appropriate.
Thats why its a forum.
By the way.
I dont appreciate your aggression.
Keep it to yourself and observe the rules of the Board.

You might be right, but we have to ask what’s the point in them being in that role if they aren’t capable of doing it?
I don't disagree. However the club will pay millions for a player, I dunno, let's say 15 million, for a striker who doesn't score. Let's call him bombingalo, for arguments sake, and spend buttons on staff training.

It's an interesting position for the club to take.

I don’t appreciate the attention seeking font.
There was also no aggression in the post you quoted.
