Feeling more and more optimistic

Every win is building momentum and belief.
If we win tomorrow night at Sheff U I think we will go up 2nd.
Why?
Because we would be just 7 points behind AND then 7 of the next 11 matches will be at The Riverside where I think we start strong favourites to beat anyone in this league.
That would leave away trips to Luton and Rotherham, before closing out at home to Coventry.
I know odds are against, but I think we are on a major march.
Lose tomorrow and obviously it becomes all about the play offs as we can’t overcome another 6 point swing.
Statement win on Wednesday night for us.

We don’t agree on much but you’re spot on, we will be putting them under real pressure on Wednesday.

I definitely think 2nd is a possibility if we win on Wednesday.

It's a big if, of course, and I think it's the playoffs if we don't win. Yet if we can get the result the gap suddenly looks manageable. More than that, I think we'd be inside their heads: we'd have just beaten them, and halved the gap in a fortnight. Psychologically it's much easier to chase than be chased.

Then there's the cup to factor in: I don't think it's certain that Spurs will knock them out, so that could congest the fixtures further. That's not always a problem, as anyone who remembers our 3 league wins in 5 days to get promotion under Lennie will know, but the potential for it all to come crashing down increases.

All premature unless we win on Wednesday of course.

I think it will be a very big ask. Even if we win they can win their game in hand and stay 10 points above us.
I'm sure I recently saw that they had got more points than even Burnley since November (their recent draw may have changed that) - so they are not really faltering
However we can only try and beat them, keep winning, and chip away
The more we win the more chance we have

Shame they managed to hang onto Berge really.

One game at a time, that'll be the case win, lose or draw anyway. I love Carrick's attitude, no pressure, focus on the game in front of you, enjoy yourselves but work for each other.

Think it's good not to be obsessed by the table. Look after the games one at a time and the table will look after itself.

Form suggests we're pretty evenly matched now. They have home advantage but we've shown we play without fear on the road. Could go either way.

McGree is playing well atm. Seems all the front players suit the fluid system we play and are free to pop up in different areas of the final third. Played a part in the build up to the first goal, lovely touch from Archer and great finish from Forss.

A win on Wednesday at United will definitely through a seed of doubt in their minds. We more than matched them at home in August, so I think it'll be a closer game than they think, seems United are expecting a repeat of last season and are suggesting that we've not been up to it in the big away games - Burnley and Sunderland. They are also still involved in the FA Cup, game to come against Spurs in the 5th Round and we all know what happened to our form after getting distracted by beating Spurs in the 5th Round last year.

Big test for us. We didn't really 'challenge' Burnley and Sunderland. Our next two away games against Sheff Utd and WBA will tell us a lot about the team, both for the rest of the season and hopefully the play-offs if needed.

One game at a time. If we do win then yes it will be down to 7 points for the time being but they have a game in hand so it could go back to 10. It would still be a huge ask. They are in good form too - unbeaten in ten games. Best thing that could happen is that we not only win but win with style. Then we might get into their heads.
