'Woke' a word utilised to undermine the concept of empathy, it's the tool of sociopaths that don't want a better world and don't care if people are bullied, abused, beaten, or killed simply for their sexuality.'Woke terrorists? WTF?
absolutely spot on. It's not their fault they were raised in those societies, but lets not pretend that he hasn't had exposure to a society where being gay isn't a sin.Religious homophobia is still homophobia.
Wanting to deny rights to somebody because of their sexuality is prejudicial.
If someone was raised in a racist household and held racist views, they'd still be a racist despite it being down to their upbringing.
He has had every opportunity to put his decision in context...he has refused....thus it's a fair conclusion that his reasons would be unpalatable. And I believe he did not reply, as far as I am aware. I am not excusing discrimination, I am simply saying that we do not know, nor understand his motives.
Or its no one's business but his ownHe has had every opportunity to put his decision in context...he has refused....thus it's a fair conclusion that his reasons would be unpalatable.
If you want to defend the rights of people to have prejudices that's on you, you can die on that particular hill. It's no different from saying that a racist should be allowed to be racist, and you will defend their right to be racist.Or its no one's business but his own
I'm not sure that this thread needed bumping mate. You're only going to encourage that Pembroke bloke to post a load more hateful crap by doing that. It's probably best to let this thread die. It's making me want to hit things. If you want to defend the rights of people to have prejudices that's on you
he's on my block list, and was after about 5 posts on this board, just do the same, you can't reason with the unreasonablesI'm not sure that this thread needed bumping mate. Whatever, you simply don't do or don't understand nuanceIf you want to defend the rights of people to have prejudices that's on you, you can die on that particular hill. It's no different from saying that a racist should be allowed to be racist, and you will defend their right to be racist.
I'll defend the rights of people to live their lives without the negative prejudices of homophobes, racists, transphobes, and other zealots....and lets be honest here, an international footballer for one of the biggest clubs in the world is making a statement that he has prejudices and is comfortable with them, and is happy for people to know it. That will influence other people to be strengthened in their prejudices.
You mean I don't have tolerance for hateful ideologies, labelling it as 'nuance' is just another excuse for the hateful prejudices of certain people. you carry on protecting the 'rights' of hateful ideologies if you like...although when those hateful ideologies were attacking british people in the 711 attacks, I'm sure your attitude would be different.Whatever, you simply don't do or don't understand nuance
No, it's your conclusion and reveals your prejudice. He has had every opportunity to put his decision in context...he has refused....thus it's a fair conclusion that his reasons would be unpalatable.
Yes it is my conclusion., but what prejudice is that you are alluding...prejudice against prejudiced ideology? No, it's your conclusion and reveals your prejudice.
Done debating with you on this subject Mart. If you can't countenance that there may be something else going on, there is no point. You mean I don't have tolerance for hateful ideologies, labelling it as 'nuance' is just another excuse for the hateful prejudices of certain people. you carry on protecting the 'rights' of hateful ideologies if you like...although when those hateful ideologies were attacking british people in the 711 attacks, I'm sure your attitude would be different.

Virtually everybody wants a better world. Virtually everybody wants social justice, which is the concept of equality under the law, opposition to prejudice and discrimination, but there are elements in society who view social justice as a rejection of social liberalism, group identity v rights of individuals.'Woke' a word utilised to undermine the concept of empathy, it's the tool of sociopaths that don't want a better world and don't care if people are bullied, abused, beaten, or killed simply for their sexuality.
I am speculating neither one way nor the other. I don't know. You seem to know for a fact.So if you KNOW there is something else going on spit it out.
Or are you just speculating because you don't want it to be true.

As Bumface advises. It's best to ignore him. You'll never change his hateful, homophobic views and the more you engage, the more hideous justifications you'll get for his backwards idealsYou must despise seahorses.
