Gyokeres to Rangers

Rangers would walk the championship to be fair, thankfully neither rangers or celtic aren’t in our division.

No they wouldn't. They would both be average championship teams. They have the usual odd decent player that hasn't moved on to better things yet and players good enough to play in Scotland. There isn't a lot of quality in either side. No more than any midtable championship side and probably less than any team that's been in the PL and bought players there in recent years. Any half decent can look good playing against L2 (at best) level opposition every week.

Sorry but I disagree completely, Celtic and rangers are both lower premier league quality and most of their best 11s would walk into ours.

Don't think that's true at all.

The current Celtic side, maybe on a good day, but half the current Rangers squad is made up of Scottish players* or cast-offs from the Championship.
They'd struggle massively in the Premier League.

James Tavernier would get in ahead of Tommy Smith, but I don't think many of the others would have got in to our best starting 11 last season.

*not saying that as a negative, but they're largely domestic players that haven't picked up interest from bigger leagues.

If Rangers were plopped in to the Championship with their current squad, I think they'd finish somewhere between 5th and 10th if they had a good season.

Obviously if they had the same finances as English clubs, they'd improve and I think that both would end up being Premier League, but that's not based on Rangers' current squad.

don't think they would atm but with the money they could generate and the share of the TV money they would be right up there in a couple of years, both are much bigger clubs than anything in the championship currently, yes bigger than even Sunderland lol

Celtic would probably put up a fight in the PL and potentially stay up.

Rangers on the other hand are a shower of sh!te. They'd struggle massively.

If they were put in The Championship, they may finish in the top 6, but as for them against Burnley/Sheff Utd, not a chance they'd be finishing in the Auto places.

Lundstram, Jack, Goldson, Tavernier, Hagi, Cantwell and Raskin would all get in our team I think.

Rangers with current squad would struggle in champo but with their support, extra income and being in english league long term with better players and a manager that knows what hes doing theyd surely be a force in the premier league. Then im sure a saudi takeover like newcastle would propel them further. Theyve got everything bar quality of players and being in a competitive league. No guarantee theyd win trophies mind, newcastle have big support but won nothing for years.

No chance. Just look at how many players end up in the PL from Celtic. Hardly any. In recent seasons there has been Eduoard and Ajer for £10-£15m and neither have even nailed a regular starting spot. That's the same as us selling Tav and Spence. Unless you mean bottom of the league in the PL then they are not PL quality. Rangers are even worse.

Being big is meaningless. See Brentford, Burnley, Bournemouth in the PL while Sunderland, Boro, Leeds, Leicester and Sheff Wed are in the championship.

There is a reason why Spurs poached Ange and not Carrick, or Mark Robins.

If Rangers are so sh1te how were they able to poach QPR's manager when they were top of the Champ?

I don't think any of them but Tavernier and maybe Lundstram would.

Cantwell was let go by Norwich because he'd went massively off the boil, and he'd probably be playing where Akpom had played this season.

Goldson was barely playing in England when he signed for Rangers in 2018, and he's 30 now.
He wouldn't get in ahead of Lenihan or Fry for me.

Don't think Ryan Jack would play ahead of Howson.

Hagi wouldn't get in ahead of Akpom or Ramsey/Forss/McGree.

Raskin has only just signed for Rangers, and has barely played yet, so I'm not even going to judge that one.

Only Tavernier would get in our team.

Lundstram had 1 decent season at Sheff Utd and has been bang average for the rest of his career.
Goldson wasn't good enough for Brighton in their promotion campaign or their first season in the top flight and was correctly shipped out
Ryan Jack is average and plays in Howson's position. Give me Howson over him every day.
Cantwell could barely get a game for Norwich before he eventually made the move to Rangers
Hagi isn't too bad, but based on last season, no way was he getting in ahead of Ramsey/Forss/McGree
Raskin - early to say. Not played a great deal. But he could be young enough to improve and become a decent player

Yeah, QPR had lost 4 and drawn 1 of the last 5 and were sinking like a stone when Rangers approached during the World Cup break.

It was the Wolves job he turned down when they were top, he jumped ship when thing started to go wrong.

For a start managing is not the same as playing so a top manager could manage in Scotland. The reputation of winning trophies as a manager, even in a pub league, is an easier sell to fans than a manager that lost the playoffs. He's probably cheaper as well and they want someone who's happy with them selling their best players which is what they'll be doing this transfer window. Spurs are on the way down.

How did Gerrard do at Villa? He was rubbish after doing well at Rangers.

As for Beale going to Rangers, he had been there under Gerrard so he was going back to Rangers and the reason most players go to Celtic or Rangers is they want a 50% chance of success. They'd rather win something regularly, even if it's easy, than try and achieve something worthwhile (and risk failing).
