How do you feel about Derby County now?

I still find huge swathes of their fan base entirely clueless and unlikeable. Focusing on issues such as points deductions next season and EFL business plans and how they will hamper the club rather than the issues at hand. Namely bidders don't want to buy a club without a stadium. Something Gibbo was very vocal about at the outset. Not to mention that it was valued at 80 million in the FFP fiasco but now its apparently only worth 20 Million.

I let any resentment go after the game. Beating them heavily 4-1, watching Morris having admit defeat and pay Gibbo the day before along with watching their fans who were coming to Middlesbrough to smash our town up, cry and moan about being scared outside the Riverside after the game just made me feel we won in every sense.

They're now back in the irrelevant box for me. I find it amusing that their supporters still continue to talk about us. Like someone else said, we're living rent free in their heads.

The way their fans have somehow portrayed themselves as victims whilst they tried to cheat every club around them and their portrayal of the efl who in their minds, are out to destroy them when in truth they have been far too soft on them is laughable.

Overall, I don't want derby to go out of business. I don't want to see that for any club but I do want them to suffer the consequences in the lower leagues for a while. This whole debacle has made a mockery of derby as a club.

I do not see why they should get any special treatment. They broke rules, they cheated, they got found out. Cheating should come with a heavy price. I don’t recall Derby fans kicking up a fuss about Darlingtons problems, Scarboroughs or Bury’s for example, so why should they get any from anyone. If they get saved with a buyer meh, if they don’t and a fans group sets them off down the pyramid, meh again.

My biggest fear is they stay in the Championship. As fantastic an achievement as it will have been if they do, it would not seem like punishment for cheating and they’d be more valuable as a purchase. Relegation is the bare minimum I expect, after that stuff em.
Agree with all that coluka 👍

Dont have twitter, dont go on their board, so the only time Im aware of any bad mouthing of the Boro is reading it on here, dont go looking for Derby comments, just leave them to their punishment, it will see them in the third division & hopefully more penalties to follow

The sad thing is, they have genuine fans who will suffer because of a cheat & his board

it was a form of arrogance,.
There is a huge amount of arrogance in their fanbase. They believe simply because they are a founding member that gives them some right to preferential treatment, that the EFL owe them a living, should do everything they can to make them survive.

Of course that isn't every Derby fan. but there is a vocal majority that appear to have this attitude.

I've heard 1 fan in a couple of hundred on twitter admit that Gibson was right to challenge Mel, and 2 admit he had a case for the play off first leg.

Pretty much every other fan treats him like he was the devil....the sad reality is, if Gibson had got his way, and Derby were not allowed to sell their stadium to cover ffp failure and debts, and had headed off the amortisation con right at the start, Derby would be in a much better place. They wouldn't have half the debt, they wouldn't have points deductions, and wouldn't have sold most of their players. But they're so entrenched they just can't see the painfully obvious. Gibson was right.

So at the moment, I wouldn't shed a single tier for Derby if they went into liquidation, I don't actively want it, but so be it. I certainly don't want them to wipe out most of their debt and get on a good financial footing without a trip into the 4th tier.

They finally have a preferred bidder, and it's the guy that was originally trying to buy them in December.
Just realised that Nixon blocked me, that'll be when I was vocal about Gibson not being the issue and he
was continually blaming him. The guys another intellectual coward.

So Kirchner who looked at them a while back, then changed his mind has come back in again after looking at Preston. I get the feeling he won't be investing a lot.

This must be naive thinking "The size of the offers to the creditors will be below the 25p in the pound demanded by the EFL. But to speed the takeover through it will mean a total of 36 points off their total.". Surely they'll only get the points this season if they survive....which they won't. So must start next season with -15 and some controls over their spending. On top of that, there is still a possibility of further punishment or expulsion if they fail to meet the 25p in the pound on debt. This is far from over.

Congratulations Reading, Party togs getting dusted down, as long as it is a day/night I m not working then I will go for a pint and I will savour it when they go down.

On the whole, I'd rather see Reading go down. No fixture is more meh in this division.
Derby at least has a bit of spice now.

I'd rather Barnsley stay up than either, but Reading,'s goal at Oakwell has made that unlikely.

Derby - a point better than Posh - and almost everyone agrees the Posh are relegated.
Rams have 9 points to make up out of 18, just to catch Reading - who are on a good run since Ince arrived.
Safe to say Derby have shot it.
Good riddance

Shows the state of the footballing fraternity when people take notice of these w@nkers in order to get a crumb of gossip about their club.

It was never at our hand though as that’s the point

it was good old Mel the talk sport favourite.
beat me to it. The club and fans where lapping it up when Rooney signed Player/Coach so only half of his wages counted and half of those where picked up by 32Red! Where was our deal with Neymar when this was going on?!?!?

Still wouldnt want them to go bust as its only the fans that would suffer but in the same breathe I wouldnt of lost any sleep if it did happen.

I hope they are not allowed to get away with taking the 15 points deduction this season by waiting until they are mathematically relegated (which looks like what they are attempting)

Paying less than 25% of football debts is pretty shabby and pity the poor local businesses get FA from them.

They have to pay 100% of football debts or are expelled from the league. 25% of non-secured non-football debts not to get further point reductions.

My understanding is the 15 point deduction can only apply this season if they aren't relegated. They will start next season in League 1 with a 15 point penalty if they don't pay creditors 25p in the pound.
