How many Play Off spots are left?

Obviously there's 4....

But so far...Leicester, Ipswich, Leeds & Saints are looking very strong and continuing to go at a decent pace. Top 2 is definitely out of reach.

Leicester & Ipswich are flying, whilst Leeds & Saints are only 1/2 points off that magical '2 pts per game' which guarantees a PO spot.

Then West Brom are in fantastic form - 5 wins out of 6, leaving Hull in 6th spot on 30 points.

We're on 27 points so well in the hunt, but realistically, is it a case of 2 PO spots remaining?

The bookies currently have the top 6 promotion offs as:

Leicester 1/10
Leeds 4/7
Ipswich 8/15
Saints 7/4
West Brom 5/1
Us 11/2

Everyone else are 14/1 or worse....so the bookies are thinking this is likely to be the top 6 come May.

Obviously the Bookies aren't always correct....as was shown last season with us favourites for promotion going into the PO's!

I would say you have Leicester, Leeds and Southampton who will be in the top 6 due to strength of squad. Ipswich are pretty much too far ahead now not to make top 6, leaving 2 spots.

I am pretty sure that we will get one of those

I do think eventually the top four teams will pull away from the chasing pack, and the four teams which make up the current top four will be the same top four come the end of the season.

I fancy Leeds or Southampton to finish 2nd ahead of Ipswich.

Think it will go right down to the wire for us this season, but if we can bring in a good striker on loan in January we'll make it.

I do agree with Ipswich.

They might yet still drop out of top 2....but I don't see them dropping out of the top 6. They've shown for too long now that they need to be taken seriously.

Bookmakers odds to make the playoffs have Leicester, Leeds, Ipswich and Southampton all odds on. WBA and Boro are about even money and there is then a notable gap to Hull and Sunderland at 3-1 each.

Actually surprised we are top 6 with bookies, but as mentioned it is a long season and still loads of games to go so that top six could easily change with two or three different teams by May

I think Southampton are still very catchable, I'm going with 3 still available.
That Irish striker they've got is definitely one to watch. Around 'pally fanny' I mean, less so on the pitch.

Feels very strong at the top of the championship at the moment. Suggests that last season was a missed opportunity for us.

I think all 4 AND the top two are available. Leicester have wobbled a bit recently and Ipswich will have one too, it’s the nature of the league. It’s about how you recover from them. FWIW I think Leicester will almost certainly win the title but there are two thirds of the season left. Nothing is out of reach IMO.

Still all to play for the Championship is a league of twists and turns, last season on December the 16th 2022, Blackburn, Norwich, Watford and Preston were 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th, and Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Luton and Coventry were 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th, respectively.

Watford and Norwich had just been relegated and were expected to remain in those spots, the beauty of the Championship is how competitive and unpredictable it is, the bookies get it wrong far more regularly than people realise.

Pretty much my thinking although i think Leeds will blitz Southampton for 2nd spot.

It wasn't a missed opportunity at all. We made the play offs but faced a side better than us in the knock out, despite us being better over the season.

We were nowhere near good enough for automatic promotion and still aren't but anything can happen if we reach the knock out stage.
