He's more of an introvert than an extrovert. I would keep him on for another season, but look for him to be deputy captain.

Possibly try to get Ben Gibson back (now he is a Championship player) and give him the captaincy.

Why do you need an extrovert to be captain? He has a steely determination and doesn't need to shout about it. Gibson isn't an extrovert either.

Problem is hes not good enough. Took him how many years to show up and now hes not fit enough. Seems a good bloke but if u want to get promoted hes not the one.

Howson has no pace cant get across the pitch to sweep up, doesnt have the fitness to do that. Yeah hes player of the season for a team that finished 7th. We need better. We need athletic, powerful players who can control a game.

We got out muscles by preston today yeah Johnny was decent amongst a **** team but it's a key area we need to be better in.

This isn’t Bernie, because, he has sense & not an armchair supporter.

We held on to Grant Leadbitter for too long, that not to say he wasn’t our best player.. we held onto him to long until he wasn’t. So difficult to replace these Barry Robson, Grant Leadbitter, Johnny Howson types..

Not even sure who next in line for the throne would be, who could take the role or grow into it.

You don't want any sort of bellend as captain, but being able to communicate well and comfortably with all your team mates, management and officials and the media (nowadays) are important. Grant Leadbitter seemed to be able to do it, I am not sure Johnny Howson is quite the same. Johnny talks best with his playing performance in my opinion which are happy with.
