I hope the club finds a way to absolutely screw over the Mackems re Tickets

Same with the playoffs we got 4000 tickets for cov away in the league but playoff rules state clubs can give a max of 2000 tickets if they wish

This 15% with the exception of safety concerns is rollox. But Rangers and Celtic now literally give each club something like 500 tickets instead of 5000

We shouldn't be screwing anyone over apart from on the pitch. The club should be doing as much as it can to behave in a civilised way, regardless of what other clubs do.

Juvenile bitterness shouldn't have a seat at the boardroom table.

Quite right; that kind of t*t -for-tat retaliation benefits no one, and we should rise above it.

I have some rare sympathy for our ugly sisters; Tyne & Wear police do treat football and football fans with contempt.
Following past matches at Sunderland, they have praised the behaviour of Boro fans, only to cite disgraceful scenes when limiting the allocation for the next match.
Likewise, they thought they could dictate kick off times to Newcastle and Sunderland in the past, leading to the 2 clubs uniting against them link

I always think if the WC was ever awarded to England, should matches take place in the Tyne & Wear region? Now, I live in Newcastle, so it would be convenient for me if they were. However, I don't really believe T&W police want the responsibility of policing big matches. At most, I could see 1 venue being selected.

It's an emotive subject tickets and whether it should or shouldn't be t*t for tat is open to opinion, but one thing is for definite they don't treat us with respect even after we have have been fair with them, so we can just accept this situation , it does look morally good and those people who take such satisfactions from useless actions can feel satisfied by not descending to the level of the Mackems or we can see if by putting a similar disregard for them into practice has an effect on our allocations, I know what I prefer , but then my infantile opinions don't count.

Personally I don't care if we don't get an increased allocation, I don't want anything of them, but let's not the decades of contempt go unanswered.

Always plenty of empty seats in the SW and NW corners of the West Stand.
Put a few of them in there.
Any over-spill can go into Block 21 (y)

Baffles me when fans get so wound up over ticket allocations, how about we just don't worry about it?

It is not good for anyone to get into this t*t for tat back and forth over tickets - I also dare say that club personnel at both clubs actually work well together over occasions such as this? If I am the safety adviser at Sunderland, I know I am happier with 4,000 Jawdees in the away end rather than 2,100 in the away and 2-3,000 in the home end.

I don't think we do know what happened or if they are Boro fans but I don't think Sunderland fans will have been fighting amongst themselves. When the club is linked to situations like this, it doesn't help when we ask for more tickets.
Could have been Mackems, I read their forum for a laugh and in the last two years they have had a rising hooligan problem which sometimes turns in on itself from the various groups up there, same as us at Leeds recently. Those idiots in the photos could have even been mags because they do turn up regularly looking to put one over on their nearby cousins, they have a reputation for it, or your right they could have been Boro.
Your point about us getting lesser tickets because of a hooligan problem is fine I get it, I understand why clubs might want to do that, who wants 5-6 thousand idiots running around their town, but then they are potentially going to give extra thousands of tickets to the mags( or seem to be) and the hooligan
problem between these two dwarves the one between us and the mackems, all I want is even handedness being shown to us, not contempt disguised as a Health and Safety issue.
For people who think I'm talking about the league game and allocations there, have a look at my OP, i did refer to the FA cup game years back👍.

Honestly, all these people saying take the high road, no need to go t*t for tat...
Have you no idea how much fun it is being petty?
Go on, do something small-minded today, you'll feel much the better for it.

I hope you not being sarcastic, I have you know that this small minded pettiness gets me in a perfect frame of mind for Xmas and carol singers turning up👍

It's the last point thatis causing theconfusion.
They have already set the bar at 2000 for the likes of us and Leeds as a safe number.

I just hope there isn't the carnage that has happened in past games because questions will need to be answered
Not quite. Their regular away end holds not far shy of 3000. For “sensitive” games they are limited to 2000 as a safe number for that section and leave a lot of seats empty. For the rest I think they can sell more. 2000 is the minimum EFL rule so that’s not a reduced allocation it’s a compliant one, even if they could sell more. We’ll give them about 2000 as well in our regular away section despite that section holding more.

This is FA Cup. Default is 15%. It’s not whether their regular away end section can hold that safely. It can’t even with two @rses on each seat. It’s whether the ground can. And whether the police can police it.

We have a complaint if they get more than we did last time in the FA Cup (although the FA rules are tighter now, and require “exceptional circumstances” I believe). We don’t have a complaint if they get more than we get in the EFL. It’s different rules.

I don't think Sunderland have given anyone the full 3k for some time.
We give Sunderland the maximum on offer in the season, for e.g. 2.6 plus last season.

Even the league matches last season are a bone of contention. I am sure Rob posted on here that MFC and SAFC got together and agreed allocations prior to the matches but then after we had given them the 2500 they went back on what was agreed and gave us 1900 which was upped later to over 2000. If they unilaterally just mess us around like this I'm sure we must be able to do it for them.

Exactly they are taking the pss and the club knows it.
