I hope the club finds a way to absolutely screw over the Mackems re Tickets

The two clubs up the road and the fans of both of them have contempt for us, yeah I have Geordie mates and they are sound but when they are forced to think in terms of football clubs and Boro then they have a automatic contempt for the club. It's crazy, I don't mind them not liking us but just treat us fairly that's all.

Even the league matches last season are a bone of contention. I am sure Rob posted on here that MFC and SAFC got together and agreed allocations prior to the matches but then after we had given them the 2500 they went back on what was agreed and gave us 1900 which was upped later to over 2000. If they unilaterally just mess us around like this I'm sure we must be able to do it for them.
That’s true. It was unfortunate and left a sour taste. But we limited others to 2000 subsequently and I am pretty certain that’s all they’ll get next month. Indeed, it feels like it’s becoming increasingly common for clubs to default to 2000 or thereabouts to limit the hassle.

Which is something that in the end will hurt us as fans more than it benefits us. When we get bigger away allocations, we can often sell them, so if we allow this to become the normal, we will miss out. Whereas it’s very rare for home fans to be affected by a bigger away allocation at the Riverside. Strikes me that this is true of our friends up the road as well. They benefit from bigger away allocations far more often than they miss out at home when something like this happens.

But didn't we give Leeds 4000 in the league match before Lockdown? I imagine we will give them around 3000 maybe more after they gave us 2900 at Elland Road the other week. In this league it really varies what allocation we will get, on our travels there are still a few opportunities to get over 3000 tickets in our remaining matches that could
be Millwall, QPR, Cardiff, Leicester, Southampton, Preston and possibly Brum if they open the lower bowl.
At home I expect we will stick to the 2500 figure for away fans apart from Leeds who may get more but hopefully not Sunderland who will hopefully get less, 2500 is too many for them!

We gave them 4500 and also in the replay in 2012 we gave the same figure this was after they gave us substantially less at SOL.
The problem we have is that where we put the away fans is in an area of the ground that is highly flexible when it comes to segregating different numbers of people so that it is trivially easy, and perfectly safe as far as the crowd accommodation aspect is concerned, to give any number from the 2000 the EFL specifies to the 15% specified in cup rules. This makes it very hard for us to refuse to give the standard unless Cleveland police simply refuse to let the relevant numbers come to Teesside at all.

Sunderland’s allocated away section is so mad, you would think they had deliberately made it as bad as possible on purpose, and to be fair, even their fans are constantly complaining about it. in particular, it leaves the visitors above the home fans, which is generally considered to be ridiculous and I think is actually prohibited in the Premier League. I can perfectly well believe it’s not safe with more than 2000 in it.

I think we have Leeds 4400 that time (not sure why). Suspect they get the new standard 2.6k max this season.
At least Leeds give 2900 ,which is decent these days.

@FishofContemplation when we got our allocation in 2012 it was in the South Stand at the SOL, they could have easily given us the whole end and we would have been safely segregated, instead they kept us in one half section of the south Stand and put the Mackems right next to us right down the length of that stand, wasn't that stupid and goes against the safety reason that was given for giving us a reduced allocation.
With the mags it seems like they are going to give them the whole of the North stand lower tier and top tier with 3000 segregation, possibly up to 7k tickets, it might be wrong as well what I'm reading they are still waiting for the news to be announced.

I Just hope any allocation Newcastle get over and above what were given is discussed at length between the "safety advisory group" the club and the supporters group next time allocations for a fixture at the SOL are on the agenda. And a specific reason is given why over 2k for Boro isn't safe and 4.8k for Newcastle is.

It’s taken so long for them to release the ticket info for this fixture (every other FA cup fixture this round has been released) because simply Newcastle are willing to fight to ensure their fans get the best deal.

On previous occasions Boro simply haven’t done that, they’ve just rolled over and let Sunderland take the mick out of us.

Don’t give them 2,600 in the new year, give them 1,650 which is the same 5% they gave us and just point to the same nonsense they do about persistent standing. If they don’t like it they should negotiate in good faith next time.

But we won’t, we’ll just hand them over.

That's one way of looking at it. I imagine Boro did try and fight for a larger allocation and got shot down by Northumbria Police. I'd be amazed if they were saying the same things to Newcastle.

All teams who have played Sunderland have been told its not safe to have more than a 2.5k away allocation etc etc on "the advice of the safety board", you can't tell me all their teams folded like a cheap deckchair and its only Newcastle who have fought for larger allocations. It absolutely STINKS of the police having a vested interest.

I hoped even before The Fa Cup game turned up for them up the road that they we were going to respond to last season's ticket mess by giving them an equal % ticket allocation of capacity to what they have given us, treat them exactly like they have us, that is fair.

They're getting 6000.
What an absolute disgrace.

Following comprehensive dialogue with the Sunderland and Newcastle Safety Advisory Groups, Northumbria Police and Newcastle United, it has been determined that NUFC will receive an allocation of 6,000 tickets.

Away supporters will subsequently be situated in the North Stand Upper and North Stand Lower. We appreciate some season tickets holders will be displaced by this stadium configuration and further information for fans impacted by this is available below

Good for them.

We are treated like ****. The mags get 6000, and even Hartlepool got 10000 a few years ago, but we offered 2700 only pushed up to 3000 after ' pressure' from MFC. There is no way our fans are as worse than the Mags at a derby match, do people forget the riots in Newcastle?

Let's hope we remind them of this when they cut our allocation in future.

Fantastic for them, but why are the safety advisory group consistent in the message that Sunderland cannot house more than 2.5k away fans safely?? And now change their tune that its safe for 6k against their hated rivals in the most volatile fixture for 7 years??

There can only be one answer...........
We gave 8,000 to Barrow, how many do you think we'd give Sunderland if we play them in the cup?
