I hope the club finds a way to absolutely screw over the Mackems re Tickets

Tbf I couldn’t be bothered with the effort the Newcastle fans are going through for this.

Forced to get a shuttle bus from St James, won’t receive your match ticket until you’re on the bus and travelling, straight the the away turnstiles and back afterwards

We gave 8,000 to Barrow, how many do you think we'd give Sunderland if we play them in the cup?
I think we would give them 4.5k, but that is a moot point.

The issue is, we and other championship clubs have CONSISTENTLY been given reduced allocations to the SOL due to the Safety advisory group saying it is not safe. The same group are now saying a much more volatile, much more dangerous fixture, which they acknowledge by making it a bubble game, can safely have 6k away fans??

@Corcaigh_the_Cat 4500 , we have given on both their last visits in the FA cup which is nearly 15% and what is hoped by the FA that can be given , which is .....have a guess 🤷🏻‍♂️........is fair. 8000 is above and beyond the call of what is necessary,.... well done Boro. Go on try harder!

We had to do similar for one game at the SOL, double decker buses from the Riverside. Ours broke down at Wynyard 😁

Their attitude won't change they will just keep on doing what they are doing without some form of pushback,

It's like saying "don't get upset about the Tories it s nothing to do with us, we keep our house in order"

As I said earlier, they do it to us because the club allow them to.

Fair play to Newcastle United. They played hardball and refused to be beaten down.

Take note MFC.

I would say collusion between Newcastle and Northumbria police forced Sunderland into a corner, I doubt MFC would benefit from having such powerful allies.

Not a chance I would travel under those conditions. 99% perfectly good law abiding citizens who will be treat like criminals the entire day. Can’t see how that can be legally enforced

Imagine being booked on the 9.30 bus for a 12.45 kickoff, half an hour away.

It's only 15 miles between the two.

It takes me almost as long to get to the Boro match each week, and I live on Teesside.

Obviously the fans travelling from outside the area will suffer, but that's Sunderland for you.

The problem we have is that where we put the away fans is in an area of the ground that is highly flexible when it comes to segregating different numbers of people
Well the obvious answer to that is to put away fans back where they were originally - at the end of the South Stand. Kills two birds with one stone as it gets rid of the flares and number of cokeheads in that area at the same time

I suspect the one good thing
to come out of giving the mags 6000 tickets that will be so much mayhem on the day that when it comes to announcing our ticket allocation for the Mackems, if the club wanted they could really go to town on reducing the allocation because of H & S.

*Of course I'm not advocating that mayhem is a good thing, just the reduction of the tickets😉

It’s taken so long for them to release the ticket info for this fixture (every other FA cup fixture this round has been released) because simply Newcastle are willing to fight to ensure their fans get the best deal.

On previous occasions Boro simply haven’t done that, they’ve just rolled over and let Sunderland take the mick out of us.

Don’t give them 2,600 in the new year, give them 1,650 which is the same 5% they gave us and just point to the same nonsense they do about persistent standing. If they don’t like it they should negotiate in good faith next time.

But we won’t, we’ll just hand them over.
Offering less than 2k put us in breach of EFL rules. I certainly wouldn’t give them any more though.

They have been beaten down to some extent though. It’s still not a full allocation and to get even what they were offered they have had to agree to all that nonsense with the buses. Would you have been happy if we had agreed to that for our FA Cup tie because I wouldn’t.
