Sounds like they are going to give 4000+ to the Mags, this after we were allocated the Miserly 2000 in the FA Cup and then after apparently agreeing a figure for us last season but then completely ignoring it.after we had given them the upper allocation.
1500 is enough Fu... Them

You do know the difference in league and cup game allocations?

It would be interesting to know the reasoning behind this - if true.
I was always under the impression the 2000 number was arrived at for safety reasons....a couple of things to consider....

Would, say, Livepool be only given 2000 or are NUFC a special case? If so, why? Is it to do with their new found status u as media darlings - an extension of KSA?

How are away end allocations calculated in the FA Cup?

The calculation is quite simple in the FA Cup.

Prior to the semi-final and final, which are played at Wembley, visiting clubs are allowed up to 15 per cent of all tickets for the stadium they are playing at.

That is unless 15 per cent of the stadium exceeds 9,000. So clubs travelling to Old Trafford, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the London Stadium and the Emirates Stadium will have their allocations capped at 9,000, unless the home clubs are willing to offer more.

Despite the calculation seeming quite simple, there are still a few stipulations.

The visiting club must make a request for the amount of tickets they would like for their fans within four days of the draw. More often than not, teams will request the full 15 per cent but, in some scenarios, they will take fewer tickets than they are allowed.

In the instance that not all away tickets are sold by the visiting club, the remaining tickets must be returned to the home club on or (preferably) before the day of the match.

The tickets in the away end are not the only ones that are accessible to the visiting club. They are also entitled to a third of seats usually reserved and known as “home and visiting directors’ seats” up to a maximum of 24 seats.

The disabled facilities must also be separated. The visiting club have the right to claim 15 per cent of those seats as well.

Visiting clubs will not always be guaranteed 15 per cent of the seats throughout the stadium, though.

The Safety Advisory Group (SAG) must also agree to the away allocation that has been proposed. The SAG is made up of representatives of services including the police, fire, ambulance and building authority.

For fixtures that pose risks to health and safety, they can choose to decrease allocations for visiting clubs.

It's the last point thatis causing theconfusion.
They have already set the bar at 2000 for the likes of us and Leeds as a safe number.

I just hope there isn't the carnage that has happened in past games because questions will need to be answered

Remember in 2012 when we played them in the fa cup think we only got 3000 cos of the saftey group, pure carnage trying to get tickets for that. Dunno why we put up with them shafting us over allocations every season and give them the max allocation for away fans at our place.

Competition allocations are irrelevant. The safety board trumps all of that. The issue here, is clearly those on the safety board, I.E Northumbria police, have a vested interest in a large Newcastle allocation.
I hope there is absolute carnage and those who allowed such an allocation heads roll (no Saudi FC based puns intended)

God forbid a serious incident occurs, however, after having said the most amount of away fans that can safely be housed is 2000, surely whoever has decided the increased allocations leave themselves open to all kinds of lawsuits? as they are going against previous advice? and there is no way they can declare boro/leeds/coventry/sheff wed as more volatile fixtures????

We shouldn't be screwing anyone over apart from on the pitch. The club should be doing as much as it can to behave in a civilised way, regardless of what other clubs do.

Juvenile bitterness shouldn't have a seat at the boardroom table.
