If we dont go up.

I'm curious, whats the confidence within the fanbase if we don't go up to do a couple of things.

1) Keep hold of Michael Carrick
2) Keep hold of Chuba
3) Sign the loanee's permanently or on loan
4) Go again but this time be at the front of the queue for Auto's

Bonus would you have confidence in our ability to recruit both Manager and players if the worst happened?

Just trying to get the general feeling, although I personally feel confident we will go up

Our Michael Carrick has more integrity and self-respect than to just foxtrot oscar.
Chuba loves lemon tops and is going to have a parmo before the start of the new season.
I dont think he`l leave - especially with the magic spell cast by the boss.
Doubt any other Manager could get that sort of season out of Chuba.
Carrick already has a plan in place and players in the cross-hairs for all eventualities.
He`s said so consistently throughout his tenure - especially in his Media Conferences.

He aint going anywhere.

IF we don't go up...

1) Depends who comes in for Carrick, but sides who come down would be more of a sideways shift he wouldn't go for, sides who go up will want to keep the manager who got them there and the big guns wouldn't yet take a punt on him I feel.
That leaves a smaller bunch of clubs so I'm quite confident.

2) Chuba relies a lot on 1) But depends what the offer is? Sides who went up or those near the bottom of the Prem may want him, but then it varies vastly on how much they'd stump up too. Too many variables to be sure.

3) The one I'm least confident on, especially getting all of them. One or two quite possibly.

4) If Carrick stays here then yes, I'd be quite confident of hitting the ground running.👍

Quality answers! Genuinely thought I'd get those 'Wait til the summer for this debate' answers haha 😄

There`s been hints that some players will be moving on, with others of the quality and temperament Carrick and his staff desire - moving in.
The issue of consistency is one which will be resolved - particularly when we look at collapses against teams like West Brom, Sunderland and Huddersfield.
Carrick is a born winner. He knows exactly what we need.
The likes of Hall and Lumley will go and probably Jack Daniels.

Honestly it was shocking, last thing you want after being Warnocked was to listen to such horrific negativity after such an amazing last 4/5 months
I just think stuff em!
Some couldnt put their boxers on the right way round!
I hope they dont treat real life in the same way - if there`s a row or summat goes wrong.
Let any of them near the red button and we`de all be fried by now:love:

Could do with going up this season as there is some big sides potentially joining the division -

Relegated from Premier could be - Southampton, Forest, Everton, Leeds, Leicester or West Ham.

Coming up from Div 1 - Sheff Wed , Bolton, Ipswich or Derby

Archer, Giles, Ramsey, Stefan - will struggle to reloan all 4, or get others of similar quality

Akpom - unlikely to smash in another 25 goals next season

Hackney - difficult 2nd full season as a pro, lots of players struggled in the past

Howson - another year older and powers surely starting to wane

Hopefully I’m wrong on most / all of this 😂

Great answer, I'm the same haha, I was an idiot on Saturday and listened to the post march phone in, the amount of doom and groomers within our fanbase was truly astonishing haha
I haven't listened to the post match phone in all season and I feel much better for it 🤣 partly because the fans do my absolute nut in when we get beat and party because Maddo does my head in win or lose 😂

If we don't go up, not the end of the world . Whatever happens it's been a phenomenal season from Carrick, and can't see things tailing off - quite the opposite.

So the loaners - wouldn't be surprised if we tried to sign Giles and get the others back on loan for the season. If we don't, interesting rebuild. I have faith in our recruitment so no worries.

Chuba - he's happy, settled, banging the goals in. Unreal turnaround, will he risk a move and losing it all? But a big bid and £60-70-80k week.......😬

Whatever happens, wherever we end up, we're in a good place and the future is rosy. I'll take that 👍

Unfortunately, I'm certain Chuba will leave if we don't go up. At his age he is not going to turn down the chance of playing in the Premier League if several clubs show an interest.

I think we may have a chance of reloaning Giles if Wolves stay up, possibly Steffen as well but I think Ramsey and Archer may get loan moves to Premier League clubs.

Coburn could be huge for us next season. He hasn't scored as many goals as I was hoping he would at Bristol Rovers but hopefully playing a full season is going to benefit him.

Barlaser hopefully will be more settled and may force his way into the team and hopefully Hackney will continue to improve, although we've seen it happen before - young players having one good season and then not kicking on. Hopefully that won't be the case with Hackney.
