Josh showed a lot of promise today, held up the ball well and showed a lot of character. I’m sure he’ll score sooner or later. I think the most important thing he gave us was balance in the attack and linked up well with the midfield.

Yeah his hold up play was very good… the ball “stuck to him” more than anyone we’ve had since a certain gent left for Amsterdam.

Might be more suited to a deeper role with Latte ahead of him running in behind

I agree that he was very good. He made a mistake in shooting from a narrow angle from a breakaway when we had two players unmarked in the centre of goal though. He redeemed himself later, from the same position but McGree hit the post instead of the net.

It was like going back in time to when I was a kid at Ayresome Park I could have been watching Archie Stephens.

He was excellent today but his heading of the ball at times when he was under pressure was absolutely superb and really intelligent.

His distribution and strength were excellent. He really deserved a goal.

Now others around me said the same but I honestly think had he made that pass the Lino’s flag would have been straight up.

I thought the officials were very suss.

I'd like to see him playing with Latte Lath. LL gets himself in goal scoring positions (albeit he's missed a few!) So with Josh doing the physical stuff it will free LL to focus on putting the ball in the net.

I thought it was crying out for LL to come on when Jones nearly got a second yellow and when his legs had gone. Those fresh legs running at them on the break would have killed them off.
