Latte Lath done deal

Looks like he had a very good season last year albeit in the Swiss league. We've got to give the lad a chance, it will be nice to have an actual striker up top rather than square pegs in round holes!

"Interest free" - no competition - sounds like the player for us
I have heard that this season our deals are negotiated using the new PAYS system. We have realised its really good value so far, it stands for Pay As You Score.

A ha. Back to the Victorian "Payment-By-Results" - that should save the club a few groats (y)

I hope so.
Would be great if he was a fast mobile 9.
Youtube is all well and good. Those videos count for nothing at 3pm on a Saturday.
Fingers crossed.

The YouTube highlights show the type of goals he scores. Bit of everything. Sharp in the box, pretty composed. Headers. Good footwork. Decent strength.

I sincerely hope he has been signed as he is a player the scouts/recruitment team feel will be a good fit for our system, not just as a player who scores goals.

Rogers, to be frank, is an abysmal finisher who looks like he could flourish in a deeper No 10 role. Chances have been created but he's not the player to stick them away. Hopefully Lath will be.

Hopefully 🤞🤞

I'm intrigued by this one - really could go either way. He looks like a strong lad going off the YouTube video, so it will be good to have somebody who can potentially hold the ball up, which wasn't one of Archer's greatest strengths (pun intended).

I'm hoping we look to bring in another striker, if the plan is to allow Coburn to go out on loan.

One thing we benefited from last season was the freedom the players had to express themselves. At this point in time we have lost a lot of our most expressive players as well as lacking the solidity that Smith and Howson provided to back that expression.
Get Smith and Howson back and add Engels and we might not be as fragile at the back. Not sure where the expressiveness is going to come from mind you as those we've signed/are trying to sign are very much unknown qualities and we just don't know how they'll do just yet.
As it stands I think we'll be the epitome of mid-table and my biggest worry is that we'll go into next season not only needing to improve our ability to win games, but also having to replace the solidity of the side as well.

Emmanuel Latte Lath leaves Italy and Atalanta to move to England. The Ivorian striker from Dea, born in '99, will fly to Great Britain in the next few hours, where he will undergo medical tests tomorrow morning with Middlesbrough, with whom Atalanta has found an agreement in principle for the permanent transfer.

Latte Lath will sign a four-year contract with Boro, who will instead pay Atalanta five million euros plus a bonus, linked to the English club's promotion to the Premier League.

So 4.3 million pounds
+ 1.3 million pounds if we get promoted to Prem
And 10% sell on clause
I have no problem with promotion clauses for 3 or 4 players. Losing 5 or 6m in bonus payments on the way to the prem is just the cost of business and means our signings have been successful. As for sell on clauses, they help us keep fees lower, I'd never go beyond 10% though, and I would hope in 3 or 4 years we have enough money to pay more and not need the sell on clauses.

Promotion clauses are excellent - its a win/win situation.

Anyone knows how the Swiss League compares with the Championship?

We do need a natural centre forward

Rogers and Silvera look lively, but they need to play a bit off a central forward.
