This table (as copied from another thread) from after Wilders final game in charge probably better reflects the huge progression we have made thanks to Leo initially and then Carrick. We have now halved the gap on Sheff Utd as it currently stands.

Again....get your facts right before spouting tosh.

That wasn't the table before Carrick's first game in charge.

This was:

I'll accept your apology too.
Hate to say it, but Burnley have got more points than us since Carrick was appointed. We have got more than SU though.

Burnley have taken 40, Sheff Utd 35 from a game less FACT
So what you're saying is, extrapolating the data you've chosen to give us (which may be flawed, see Marvanelli's post) that Boro have been ever so slightly better than Sheffield United (about level on points, but better at gaining GD. Oh and this despite them having had much easier fixtures over this period of the season than us, but OK you've chosen to ignore this) but marginally under Burnley.

Whilst Sunderland over the same period have been inferior to West Brom?

You're not telling us anything we don't already know Hoolio. Facts indeed.

Since Carrick's first game in charge (away to Preston on 29 October - hence we I showed a copy of the table on 28 Oct), Burnley have also amassed 37 points.

Since the 29th October (before ko v Preston)
We have amassed 37/45.
Burnley amassed 37/42.

I didn’t say you were no better under Carrick quite clearly you are my point is the top two have matched your points return since he took over in October
Exactly this, our form is brilliant but Sheffield are only just behind, even after last night it still needs a huge drop of form from Sheffield Utd, which based on their points this season is very unlikely.

It’s just about going into the playoffs as the form side at this stage, but 10 other teams will be hoping to do the same

Carrick appointed 24th of October, Burnley beat Norwich 25th of October so since Carrick appointment Burnley have taken more points than Boro big massive FACT now jog on yer clown 🤡

Again, since Carrick's first game in charge, no team in our league has amassed more points than we have.

So unfortunately, you need to go back in that little box you came from.

“Since Carrick came in” was your opening gambit which was inaccurate and not factual

Right boys.. can i suggest you two meet up, get your knobs out, see who's is the biggest and move on.

The simple fact is we are on a storming run and any neutral with a working brain cell would agree that Carrick has done a fantastic job in turning us into real promotion contenders and probably 3rd favourites to go up at present behind Burnley & Sheffield Utd.

Perhaps more relevant is that after the Sunderland defeat less than 4 weeks ago, we were 15 points adrift of Sheffield United (albeit with the same number of games played). With over 11 weeks of the season to go and a tough fixture list for them, anything is possible even if it seems unlikely.

I've seen sunderland 4 times live this season, twice against Boro at Luton in October and at Millwall a couple of weeks ago. W1,L1,D2, they beat us because we had an off day, other 3 games they looked like a bang average champo team. IMHO they've peaked where they are, won't go any higher and will finish 8-10th. Technically in a normal season we'd be about the end of January and we all know what happens to Tony Mowbray teams in the latter part of the season = fall off a cliff

QPR were atrocious the other night but S'land dealt with them professionally I thought. Some good youngsters but the run-in could be challenging for their squad.

Yes but the point I made was both Burnley and Blades are on decent runs, every team is capable of having an off day as Blades did last night and you lot “allegedly did” when you didn’t turn up at our place

Sunderland play Norwich away then Sheff Utd & Luton at home in the space of a week in mid March. I would suggest that week may just make or break their season.

All great games for us too as it means the chasing pack keep on dropping points along the way.
