Mackem Delusion

Sunderland are punching, but I mean that as a compliment. Mogga has got them getting results, picking up points while playing okay. This without Stewart for the bulk of the season.

Over the course of the season Burnley and Sheff Utd have been the two best teams in the division, no doubting that. Table doesn't lie (unless you ask Woodgate.......😉). I don't think we will catch Sheff Utd, they may be having a blip but expect them to sort themselves out and get promoted. BUT. Stranger things have happened, so we'll just have to keep plugging away.

The Sunderland game was the worst we have played under Carrick by a long way, we were shyte start to finish and Sunderland deserved the win. Even a few weeks later, it's a head scratcher as to why we didn't show up.

Not delusional, as proven a month ago not too much difference between the teams imho but you lot blinkered by the coming of Carrick 😊

Reality is since Carrick arrived on Teesside you are not really any closer to Sheff Utd and further behind Burnley points wise, play offs at best for both
From 21st to 3rd but ok.

They are properly deluded on that forum. I visit a few fans forums and that one is another level. It is mental how they go on.

They don't seem to realise how the rest of the world perceives them - just another club. There is a twitter account run by a Newcastle fan that just posts screenshots from the forum - some of the stuff they say is hilarious. The account is called something like 'deluded world of rtg'

They are a club just like us, they have been for 70 years. A few league titles in the early 1900s mean nothing these days. Huddersfield won league titles back then ffs.

But your not Burnley have been and Sheff Utd have been on a par with you despite losing last night
Since Carrick joined:
- Boro 37 points in 16 games
- Sheff Utd 35 points in 15 games
- Burnley 37 points in 14 games

So no one has earned more points, but Burnley have a better PPG.

For the record Sunderland are 28 points in 15 games, so despite having a ref assisted win against us, you should probably pipe down and drop out of a conversation about who is the current best side in the championship because it definitely isn't a conversation that includes your team

I didn’t say you were no better under Carrick quite clearly you are my point is the top two have matched your points return since he took over in October

Sick of pointing out since Carrick joined Burnley have amassed 40 points

What we know about Mogga side is that when they collapse he has no answers and they stay that way for the rest of the season. Has happened to every team he has ever managed.

Since Carrick's first match in charge they have amassed 37 points. 12 wins 1 draws and 1 defeat since 29th October 2022. What happened before he got his team on the field isn't really relevant to this discussion.

Correct but that was not what Mr Marvenelli said he said since Carrick came in so is very relevant

I'd agree that Burnley are the most complete side in the league mind, we are a patched up side of players from previous managers, loanees and freebees, that is storming it. Carrick has got us playing some of the best football, and in the joint best form in this league with players he didn't even choose.

It's a pedantic and semantic point that you are making though. When football fans talk to other football fans about the difference a new manager has made, they don't talk about the week on the training pitch, they talk about that first match. That's because they can't influence results without crossing the white line for the first competitive match.

So now we have clarified this point. Since Michael Carrick's first match in charge, no team has scored more points than Boro in the English Football League Championship. That is factually correct, impressive, and a good barometer of being talked about as the best side in the championship right now.....I'd still say it's Burnley, but, I'd argue that the gap is small and if we played them now, it would be a very tight game, much more than when they beat us at their ground.
