Mass Gatherings wtf?

‘Bring a picnic, some music and let’s have some fun and say yes to life!’

Does that really say ‘let’s be reckless and put ourselves at risk.’

Sadly the virus that kills them will kill you and me as well.

The more you read that the angrier it make you

Whilst I think this is a foolish endeavour, they are trying to bring attention to the corona virus bill, which contravenes a huge number of our rights as citizens of a democracy. It could and should have been brough to peoples attention in a different way.

and that was exactly why Johnson was too slow to act in the first place, at certain extreme times, then those rights for a while do have to take a back seat, for the good of the citizens, like now.....

Holgate, the problem with the bill is it has no sunset and it has some very draconian measures in it. here is some for examples:
The police can sieze property, including your home
You can be removed from home and detained in a hospital or other location
Anyone you have been in contact with can also be detained
You can be forced to take a vaccine
Any vaccine is not subject to external scrutiny

It really is an awful bill

I'm not an expert on this piece of legislation, but I thought the government had agreed that its provisions would have to be agreed by Parliament every six months and expire after two years?

From the article about covid transmission risk posted twice on here. "Importantly, of the countries performing contact tracing properly, only a single outbreak has been reported from an outdoor environment (less than 0.3% of traced infections)"

Outdoor infection is a very low risk. If they start hugging and kissing, then they have a real risk. I remember all the indignation about people sitting in Brockwell Park, Brixton (many living in small apartments in blocks), then seeing the packed tube trains the next day.

The good thing is that, communally, we are learning how to manage the risks. I just wish that those in charge had done their homework early enough and got the PPE in for health and care workers to protect the most vulnerable.

What about the right to LIVE without getting coronavirus through mass gatherings like this? What about the rights of the police and NHS workers not to have to deal with the inevitable trouble and new infections which might come out if this, risking their own lives in the process?

I have no problem at all with my rights as a citizen of a democracy being temporarily suspended if it means that lives are saved and anyone who risks life unnecessarily with events like this deserves the (all too weak) punishment they will get.
