Muniz may not be going to Fulham?

All sounds like agents playing games - feels like we are expending too much time and energy on this - move on. Ultimately Fulham can outbid us plus they are london based - I can’t see us bettering them for his signature.

need to slap our final offer down take it or leave it, but tell him he’s got 2 hours to make his mind up or walk away and pursue another target. He would then have to hope fulham manage to find the wriggle room in their finances that they are struggling with for ffp.

Not even Bausor has lost the same player to the same club twice. He must be loving the Super Bocks!

If they were willing to accept a smaller fee from us, they'll probably come to a compromise where they accept a reduction in Fulham's fee but still get more than we were going to pay.

Fair enough, Fulham can probably afford to pay him more and have a better chance of promotion than we do.

The irritating thing is it sounds like everything was pretty much agreed then his head was turned by the late bid. As others have said, wouldn't fill you with much confidence for future loyalty.
Or more likely you'd worry about the character and motives of his agent.
Surely the underlying motivation of professional footballers is to play football week in week out.
The days of players sitting in the reserves on £xxk per week seems to have grown with the influence of agents.

This one starting to remind me of the Alfonso Alves deal.
Wasn't that one 'complicated' - think there about three agents involved and we were competing against another club (can't remember who can anyone?)
We lost.....and bought him.

Alves

I think the only time I can remember we've came out on tops against a bigger club wth a tug of war transfer was when we unfortunately signed Peter Davenport away from Villas clutches, if only we'd have lost that one we could have avoided relegation

I hope fulham get him tbh...i mean how come , if hes apparently that good to splash 6-8million on, no premiership team are in for him. Seems overpriced for what hes actually achieved which is pretty much nothing so far

I hope we do get him, over Fulham. It’ll be a big win to draw a player away from London. He looks like a prospect too, potentially becoming a very saleable asset. We are short of those. Not many of the current team have much of a sale value.

I don’t get the “well if he doesn’t want to come to us first then sod him” argument as let’s be honest no one knows how transfers happen so you no have idea who wanted to come or not.

I have no issue with wether we were first or second etc as what do you expect that he had a poster of Bernie on his wall as a kid. Of course not.

if warnock wants him and we can get him then that’s fine with me.

seems to me the negativity towards him is based entirely on liking one article on twitter, about Fulham agreeing terms with Flamengo for him. If we didn't have an agreement in place at that point then there isn't anything for him to like with us.

The issue is sometimes that a player won't settle if it wasn't really their first choice club. That could lead to poor form because they don't want to be here or their agent constantly looking to find the player an exit like what happened with Braithwaite.

It doesn't mean we should automatically exclude players because they preferred to go elsewhere but you've got to be very careful. Especially if it sounds like a large part of your budget.
