Nervous for Sunday

Most of you sound like absolute fannies whats to be nervous about if we dont go up so be it
If you don’t have a few butterflies though you either don’t care that much (meaning you’re a two bob boro fan) or you’re a budding sociopath . No nerves means one of the two

Yep, i'm fairly positive but also nervous. Half of me wants it to come around quickly, half of me doesn't want it to come around.
Summed up for me is….I’m nervous because we’re missing a match fit Fry, Ramsey, Forss and obviously Howson (4 starters let’s be honest) and If they were fit I’d be a lot more relaxed and think, well. If they do us with our full team then they deserve it but after the season we’ve had under Carrick if we fall short because of an under strength team then that’s hard to swallow.

My head says 2-0 but my optimistic side thinks we can tear them a new one if they do and play as Carrick wants them to do it.
I just have a bad feeling for this game and hope 🙏🏻 It’s just me and my own nerves!

I'm almost happy to be at sea thousands of miles away! It makes the build-up a doddle for me really.

One thing that does make it easier. These are the games we want to be involved in. I'd take being a bit apprehensive about the game than missing it totally because of a 7th place finish.

I do worry about our defence i think McNair instead of fry is a massive weakness. However if we dont go up its not the end of world as long as carrick is here thats the difference between this time and finals before. My head is, thniking we are a bit like brighton in that last of season game at the riverside if we dont go up we will just get better next sesson because we have the best manager and recruitment setup in the league. Its not shìt or bust the club is on upward trajectory with carrick

Nervous yes but simultaneously at peace with all outcomes 😁

Over the three games, there's only one team who can beat us....ourselves. I've yet to see anything this season that would suggest that if we play to our best we can overcome any of the three sides, pretty comfortably as well.

I guess what I'm saying is we'll only have ourselves to blame if it doesn't work out. If both sides play their best stuff on the day, we come out on top every time, regardless of the opposition.

True about fry, I agree however I’ve been thinking about this and McNair brings some things fry can’t bring such as a real comfortableness bringing the ball out of defence (even though fry can do it too) and creating an overload in midfield, it can really assist us getting up the field and opening up the opposition
Fry brings defensive positives and McNair also brings positive aspects playing at the back….

If we don't get promoted it could be a blessing in disguise. Another full season with Carrick at the helm and we will be a much stronger side, winning the champo by a mile and in better shape to survive in the PL

Agree but once you get in the playoffs you obviously are close and want to win !

Not this again! We don't go up and we potentially lose the likes of Steffen, Giles, Ramsey, Archer and a lad who's just netted 29 goals with absolutely no guarantees that we will replace them with players of equal quality. With this in mind, whats to say Carrick doesn't have a disastrous start to the season and gets the boot or on the flip side, starts well and ends up leaving for a bigger club? Will it then be too early to get promoted under the next manager? If someone asked Carrick is it too early to get promoted he would probably think, lunatic.

For me, in the position we are in now, we MUST get promoted. It may be a while before we get another shot at being as close as this.

Spot on

I am really looking forward to it, no fear.
I know we are a good side and can play some brilliant football.
As long as the lads turn up and give it a damn good go, then thats me happy.

Being where we are now, in the play-offs, is far more than I expected at the start of the season. It’s been a good year since getting Carrick in.

But saying all that, Cmon Boro, let’s fckng go!

Red Army!

Completely agree. Not gaining promotion can never be a good thing. We went up the following season under Karanka but there's no guarantees we would do the same under Carrick.

I think we would have a decent chance of getting Steffen and Giles back on loan but there would be no chance of us getting Rasmey and Archer back, and I'd fully expect Akpom to sign for a Premier League club.
