You know it isn't as explosive as petrol or domestic gas or that propane is much worse than domestic gas yet we all get drunk and f**k about at barbecues?

Are you sure about this? It's ceretinaly more flammable than both, and his to be stored under high pressure so I would expect it to be more explosive.

Why not impregnate hydrogen onto a cassette film, and use laser to release the energy?
You could have handy cassettes at each Gas Station - like the Propane gas malarkey. Perfectly safe
