Planned riot in Middlesborough last weekend.

I dont disagree, but what has been the driver of this difference in behaviour though in your opinion? Why do we have this violent, thuggish, selfish, racist underbelly that just thinks that they can literally do whatever they want to whoever they want?

Genuine question by the way, not trying to stir anything up.

I disagree the root cause is unequivocally poverty and inequality

It's not the point whether you agree or not. Whoever looks at the root cause of all this will be looking through whatever narrative is being set for them.

You say poverty and inequality, Farage and the like might argue that poverty and inequality is caused by immigration.

In reality, a root cause analysis isn't going to provide an answer to someone smashing the front of Iceland, scaring the **** out of the staff inside, to loot some chocolate milkshakes.

(I’m going to give some credit to Riverside Rifle and Ayton Mews over there, they’ve been very vocal in calling out his overt and disgusting racism)
Been reading that board a bit over the weekend and thought the same about Rifle. Ayton Mews has always been a decent poster on here from my memory, too.

Just seen on the news that Brits are being advised to return home and leave the Lebanon for their safety, I wonder if their locals are now calling Beirut out as like downtown Middlesbrough/Rotherham/Liverpool/Belfast (insert the name of any former large industrial UK town or city abandoned by Westminster Palace) !!!

It really makes me sit back and think why are so many people across the world so hell bent on the destruction of the human race and why hate seems to lodge in peoples hearts and heads so readily. This hatred, It’s like a parasitoid with no cure. I am a non believer, but if there really was a god, he’d surely just gently nudge an asteroid Earths way and start again.

The Lebanese are the nicest people on Earth I've ever had the honour to have met (admittedly I haven't met all peoples of the world yet).

Three times I was sent there by the French company (gouvernment) who owned my soul. Each time I went I felt more embarrassed about where I was coming from.

The people of Beirut had been getting on for 1000s of years, living in harmony, at the silk road gateway to the west, before the Capitalists stuck their kneb in.

Beirut is probably the highest concentration of harmonious diverse, creeds, colours, religions and nationalities on the planet.

Just like East Timore, Capitalism crushes any threat of proven socialism.

Looking at some of the videos, a lot of them are young lads - teenagers going out and feeling free to vandalise and cause damage. They will soon regret it if they are identified and caught. Immigration and other issues are an excuse - the majority of those young lads just wanted a reason to cause havoc without any consequences. Those consequences may come home to roost if they get a knock on the door from the coppers in the next few days

There are also lots of young men and middle aged old farts showing off their idiocy. Video evidence galore for the courts to utilize!

To get to the true root cause you need to go down deeper. Why is there unequivocally poverty and inequality, for example would be next question

And I’d probably ask why to the next answer and potentially the next answer after that

Someone I used to work with used something he called the "five whys" to try and get to the bottom of something, more or less what you just said - keep asking why and nothing else, people will eventually fill in the blanks themselves, once they have to think about it

Ye the 5 why’s are a good technique, but also using the term ‘what else’ before moving to next why is very powerful

The thing is people don’t like silences so they will end up filling in the blanks like you say

Absolutely, opportunistic ferral youths.

I suspect they wouldn’t even understand what far right means.

They would be there doing whatever they think they can get away with, whatever the perceived cause of the public disorder.

Every town and city has them, unfortunately.
