Please don't punish us for 'Westminster mistakes' urges Hartlepool Tory candidate

She's been on TV for like 20 years. I'm sure If people called her Deborah Meaden from Dragon's Den then at least 5x the number of people would know who it was compared to say David Frost brexit minister.
There he is again. I would rather have Johnson and Preston liking me.

What mess? Name one thing where it has changed my life or yours, going anywhere near Brexit is a political disaster.
This level of ignorance is stunning. This is why Starmer needs to list some of the many and wide ranging failures of brexit. People can't continue to be this ignorant about the damage being done.

When did you first consider the impact of Brexit on the Good Friday Agreement and Northern Ireland?
I did as it happens, Ireland is very close to my heart. Are you saying that all UK policy in every issue has to be dictated by one issue? That's impossible.

Today the leaders of both military factions are gangsters and drug runners.

Your weakest argument to date.

That’s what Keir starmer should be drumming into everyone who will listen and list all the terrible consequences constantly because how else will people get educated in this country. Saying silent doesn’t work for this country
This catastrophe needs unpicking for the mess it actually is

You are correct, but I think removing Johnson comes first, because he is the one who is adept at rallying people around a slogan and he is the one who can shamelessly and effectively lie about these matters. Whoever replaces him is not that shameless, not that formidable a campaigner, but just as out of their depth on Brexit.

From about 1974 when I started to understand politics and thought bombing children is not a good policy.

Major started the process through to Blair.

Why do you think gangsters should be mollified?

How long have you spent in both countries of Ireland?

I agree, calling people scum won't win back the red wall. People who voted brexit weren't scum.

They were misled, fooled, ignorant, ill informed, lazy in their research, exhibited poor judgement, unwise, were compromised in their usual reasoning process etc etc. The best single word I can think of that applies to each of these synonyms is 'stupid', but the problem with that is while it is accurate, people don't like to confront the idea that they themselves have been stupid, even though we all are. Also, because there are all sorts of definitions of stupidity, when our opponent gives us a label, we tend to leap to a more negative one than they intend.
lied to basically

see the big red bus

You claim you weren't ignorant when you voted for Brexit.

I'm just trying to understand when you considered the impact of Brexit on the Good Friday Agreement.

Was it prior to the referendum when no-one on the Leave side even mentioned or considered it?

Or was it afterwards by the Brexiters who said it was nonsense that there needed to be a border, or by the Brexiters who said there would be a border but that it would be frictionless just like the Swiss or the USA-Canada ones are?

You see it's this level of intellectual dishonesty that has you on my block list. You berate me for SmallTown not liking my post, he likes my post and you ignore the content of it and berate me being liked by SmallTown.

You sir are a fool, good day
Oh no. Please don't block me. I promise to be nice to you. Oh god what am I to do.

I told you I was always 50 50. I don't think mollifying gangsters is a proud policy.

I hope there will be a united Ireland, but there are people who live there will never let it happen, Brexit or no Brexit. Have you been there to study it? I have.

As for trade in my view it will never stop, politicians on the whole are parochial, it's where there votes come from.

In the not too distant future, after this despicable war, we will be buying Spanish Ceremitics, Italian wine. German cars as we always have. Next week we go to Spain for a fortnight, I am pretty sure they will accept my money.

I don't live in the world if doom you seem to be in.

I can't easily export items for clients overseas. We have a retainer with UEFA for marketing materials. Anything I supply for the EU market is a nightmare.

I have some items being delivered today to Lisbon. They were sent on the 20th April. They were for an event which they've missed.

I have a friend who lives in the Netherlands with her husband (Dutch) who has MS. She also has elderly parents in the UK. She's an only child and is worried about them getting ill as her husband wouldn't be able to move here.

One of my colleagues has worked here in the UK for 15 years, paid all her taxes, and done everything asked of her. She had to apply to live in her own home.

She had to apply to live in her own home? What form was that. I will make a complaint to my MP on her behalf.

As for her husband, why will he have an issue? That's disgraceful, I thought anyone who lived here over 6 years were given automatic living rights. Every East European I work with have living rights.

I accept there is a lot of nonsense silly paperwork at the moment, but it will be sorted. I can remember the nightmare of decimalisation, we soon became used to it.

This level of denial is actually quite impressive.
Why? Give an argument. Are you saying Villarreal will stop sending plates and oranges? Audi will stop selling cars, the Italian wine market will dry up.

Jet2 are flying all over Europe from LBA, are those planes empty?

The way Hartlepool council election works means that not many sitting Conservative councillors are up for relection. All seats were voted for last year with Brexit and vaccine rollout still dominating. This year only the people who came 3rd in each ward are up for reelection so not many Conservatives but a lot of Labour.

Very hard for Labour to be seen to be successful this year, it will be 2 years time before Conservative's come under real pressure here when their 'paper only' candidates come up having done very little to get elected in first place.
