Trouble is this buffoonery is all intentional….this what we are now talking about. He buys our, and the country’s interests in 24 hour blocks while more important things are not being talked about.
It’s his shtick, always has been.
Drink? He'll have been out of his mind on drink no doubt.
I met someone a few years ago who worked with him closely when he was London mayor and his take on him was that his public persona is a well practiced act, given that he is a very different person away from the public eye.I have a certain degree of sympathy in that anyone who speaks in public could lose their place mid-speech, but you just dont expect the prime minister to.
It just shows a complete lack of preparation. Shocking really. Its no act, it’s just incompetence.
The act has now been revealed to be just that. As an after dinner speaker he was able to trot out the same routine, but now has to rehearse and prepare - which he plainly can't be bothered to do. I hear the sound of knives being sharpened.I have a certain degree of sympathy in that anyone who speaks in public could lose their place mid-speech, but you just dont expect the prime minister to.

That's quite a damming character assassinationI'd urge people to watch John Oliver's take on Johnson from a couple of years ago.
If the grand plan is to make the PM look a rambling, drunken cnut, I do wonder about his advisors. If it was a scheme, & I doubt it was, it's blown up in their facesI don't think for a second there wasn't a plan and purpose behind that charade today. He wants eyes on him. Why? Trying to make Starmer look more bland and boring? Or distracting from something they are doing that they don't want eyes on?

Not one cabinet member has the ability to take him to one side and tell him to sort himself out if that is what the “senior source“ is saying. Johnson has over the last two years gradually surrounded himself with yes men and women, equally incompetent, equally corrupt. He has nobody else but these people.Honestly, I don't think that was planned today.
A senior Downing Street source told the BBC: "Business was really looking for leadership today and it was shambolic."
They added there was "a lot of concern inside the building" about Mr Johnson.
"Cabinet needs to wake up and demand serious changes otherwise it'll keep getting worse. If they don't insist, he just won't do anything about it."
Or getting his knob wet, just to be fair.......As much care and attention that he gives anything other than his own ego.
