Protest at the snooker

What has that got to with snooker?

What next? Throwing orange paint at the curling championships? Making yellow snow at the ski jump?
I get why they are protesting I do. But as others have said all they seem to be doing is ******* off various different sectors of the national community.
Form a parliamentary party. Go that way to enact change.
Skiing encourages flying and manufacturing artificial snow, both of which require large amounts of energy. Makes more sense than the snooker.

Yep…..they have no concept of the distress caused by ruining our day vegetating in front of the telly.😀
You do realise this is the same group that blocked the roads day after day, stopped trains/flights forcing people to miss work, miss appointments etc? Whilst also putting emergency services in danger dealing with them

Of course jobs won’t be at the top of someone’s mindset who can rely on someone else’s money to get by.

I agree with them as well, just not their actions. I’m sure the majority of the uk agrees with their aims, but how many of them could afford to get a criminal record and loose any decent future employment

It’s just something I can’t ever agree with that people in this privileged position have made life so difficult for the normal working person numerous times over the last few years. That’s not something that should ever be accepted as a legitimate way to protest
Being a student isn't a privileged position and have you heard about the loans that students have to pay back?

Lighten up JM you’re generalising when the thread is specifically about the snooker…..or even more specifically, about NC’s meltdown over it!😀

But when they don't block the roads and when they don't cause train cancellations they still get criticised.

What should they do next to get noticed?

That's a big assumption to make from such scant information. My son left school at 16 to start an electrical apprenticeship. Between the ages of 17 and 20 he was working away, working on site and living in digs.

Later he went back into education and got a master's in electrical engineering. Was he someone who didn't have to work to get by?
For clarity, my initial comment about a student being 25 was firmly tongue in cheek.

What has it achieved?

Some short interruption to the snooker and damage to the cloth on one table.
Coverage on the National News
Representatives on TV talks shows to state their case
Increased public profile for their cause
Some irritation and a few people digging themselves into foxholes on social media

On balance I'd score that as a significant success for the protestors.

It will be talked about on QT too. Which is the last bastion of importance. 😁

not quite sure you're grasping the fact that the future is not a given tbh

What did he actually through over the table? It looked like that powdered paint to me. Which would be ironic

Anyone at that age who hasn’t started employment but is willing to get involved in these protests and end up with a criminal record, clearly doesn’t need to worry about money

For the vast majority of us, a record at that age is basically a life of very few prospects employment wise, which the majority of the country just couldn’t afford to do

Or they believe that the bigger picture is more important than their own employment prospects.

It's a very lazy dismissal of their message to label them all as posh public school kids who dont need to worry about employment.

Form a party to run for government.
There seems to be enough of them?

See if they get the general support from the wider population at the polls. Then they can enact whatever change they want.
