re the foden situation - he needs to be played

The side looks much better with him in, the way he carries the ball and glides past players, first touch can pick a pass

Assist and a goal - what more do you want to justify your position

You don't get an assist from a direct free kick.

He's made an impact though.

But then so did Saka against Iran.
Basically whatever suits their agenda. You could do that for most.

Hes done ok. Had one run that got the free kick and scored a tap in. I don't think he will play the next game. I don't think rashford will either.

Foden assist and goal, he does nowt for England though.
he hadn't for some time, he's been anonymous in previous England games. He was anonymous first half in this game, much better when he was switched to the left wing. He needs to follow it up now.

Couldn’t give two shîts what he’s done previously.

If you had to whack your hat on anyone at LW for England, then it has to be Foden.

He’s by far our best left winger.

No one comes remotely close.

Calling him anonymous in the first half is a bit of an over exaggeration. He wasn't dictating the game but he had a few nice touches and was involved in enough of our attacking play despite being stuck on the touchline for some reason. Credit to Southgate for the switch at half time and Foden showed how dangerous he is when you get him cutting inside.

The fact is Foden is one of our best players and one of the most talented attacking midfielders in the world. Its a totally valid argument for fans to want him involved more and I don't know why people need to carry out a load of mental gymnastics to downplay his ability.

The argument that fans only want players playing who are sat on the bench is ridiculous in this case, Foden has been doing it week in week out for arguably the best club side in the world and thats in the Premier league and Champions league. Its not just Southgate haters using Foden as a stick to beat him with.

Surprise surprise our best performances in the WC have come when Foden has started...

I don't want to see anyone even suggest someone else should be playing LW for us.

He's lightyears ahead of anyone else in the position for England.

And he will go on to become one of England's greatest ever players, of that I have no doubt.

The thought of Foden, Saka, and Bellingham being in the England team for the next 10 - 15 years is mouth watering

It really is.

Even Rice is only 23 years old.

That core of midfield talent looks brilliant.

Hopefully it's managed properly over the next few tournaments as they are all potentially world class.
