Red faction statement.. ticket prices

Will be watching how this plays out now

Statements saying continued protests if nothing changes and then what looks like a back track and no mention of keeping the pressure on the club to price fairer for all fans, other than open meetings.

Sounds very cuddly to me

So the outcome is £4 reduction per match for Under18 walkup prices.
Also price freeze for current Under18 S/T’s
Which means 87 pence per game saving for current under18 S/T holders.
Wow grand kids won’t know what to spend it on.

Don't forget that the adults that buy the U18 walk-up ticket for the child will almost certainly be going up next season because season tickets have which will pretty much negate any saving anyway.

Yep first year as Over65 for me so concession which has gone up £40 from last year.
Son’s full price has gone up £30.
So that’s the 2 x 87 pence saving on grand kids gone.

Let's be honest, Gibson has placated the most likely noticeable protesters. He'll see that as a green light to do what he wants with the prices in the future.

It doesn't help that he doesn't have professionals in the key departments working for and advising him.

Wonder if the disabled car park places are going up too ..some can't have one without the other.

The guy does all this early bird stuff so that fans are trapped in to renewing because the penalty for not and going on a match by match basis is too cost prohibitive. He can mug us as much as he likes almost. The high costs cover over his failings with the marketing department which is rubbish. It's all starting to collapse now as we have almost run out of assets to bail us out. Jones and Hackney, at a push. The rest are about old Division 3 standard.

Reports say Mr Gibson has pretty much single handedly saved the club from his own pockets for many years now. Numbers like a £million a month bandied about. For many this will mean Mr Gibson will always be a hero.
Mr Gibson is also a successful businessman - some would say a driven uncompromising guy.
I used to revere Mr Gibson and was in awe of his willingness to lump so much of his own money into saving our club.
Sadly I feel his mask is slipping in many fans eyes. His alleged involvement with Lord Bent and Teesworks changed the opinion of him for many, including myself. The fiasco over the early bird renewal email and being forced to meet actual fans just made things worse. Everything is not rosy at the moment between fans and the Chairman.

There’s no doubt he’s done wonderful things for the football club.

But he’s a walking PR disaster and needs to get serious assistance on that front.

That article makes for an absolutely horrific read. If it's true Gibson sounds like a detestable man.

Oh there were minutes taken at that meeting then.
'You F******* pay the F****** early bird price and season tickets or I'll have the roof over yer head'

Doubt PE would not have printed it if it were not true - usually extremely careful about this sort of thing.

Gibson seems to have lost the plot over the last few years, turning Tory, jumping into bed with the likes of Houchen...... certainly lost a lot of supporters respect off the back of this.

Lot of the current issues will no doubt stem from this total change of attitude - or dare I say adopting a Tory attitude - towards loyal paying fans.

Bit grim at present. 😬

To be honest, I couldn't give a **** whether he's Tory, Labour, Green or whatever. There's a way to conduct yourself, and it appears he's coming over as a bit of a t*t at present. Sadly I feel this is reflected with his way of running the club (however obviously I may be well off the mark!).

i was really hoping that the chaeacter assisinatiions would end last week and lessons would be learned when Mark M walked after the online blitz he received.
Gibson hosted the launch of the labour campaign for Tees Valley Mayor at the Riverside,!

If the content of that Private Eye piece is true then you can surely understand why people may be a little dubious towards the chairman. And it’s a matter of fact that he has endorsed and supported certain Tories. People are allowed to call him out on that imo.

Not a character assassination at all.

Merely pointing out that, in the past few years he has not covered himself in any glory. Going from Labour Councillor to Tory to......??........is his prerogative, but we are allowed to question this, especially the tone in the PE article. Pretty shocking and disgusting actually.

He went down massively in my estimations after that. I still back him as chairman, still thank him for what he's done for the club, but is he as revered as he was in the 99s/00s - no.
