Riverside Atmosphere

Sit in East Stand and all you hear is constant drone and drum from Red Faction which isn't loud enough for anyone to understand.
When whole of South Stand sing noise is fantastic but it seems to be to intermittent due to Red Faction drone.
To me Red Faction just seem to want to entertain themselves and not really interested in creating an atmosphere which has detrimental effect on rest of South Stand.
Just my opinion of course

Lots of teams have versions of it.

I think the original might have been started by Celtic for Brendan Rodgers
 
The intrusive shrill of the stadium PA isn't helping things.

Not a fan of the same repetitious crap blaring right up to kick off, topped off with that third-rate dirge at the final whistle with flashing lights.

It's a pitiful distraction, which kills the spontaneity stone dead, when the team and supporters should be sharing that moment.

I'm no singer sing writer but something as simple as below would work.

Oh Gibson said,
He f**king loves the boys in red.
Oh words cant describe,
Ryan Giles on the left hand side.
Crook's hair is fine,
He scores belters all the time.
Thats why we sing this song
For the boro all night long

I just think it would be a shame to give up such a unique football song particularly at a time when theres so few about.

Tweek the above or change it all together but it would be great to get it back ringing around the riverside

The north stand now resembles a libary, the 12th man start countless songs, im in block 21 and a few around me consider me rowdy for standing and singing!!! Both young and older sit around the area so its a mystery why the north atmosphere is so flat
 
I heard "were the West stand were the West stand were the West stand red army" on Tele the other day. Nearly dropped my beer.

Stop whining about the type of songs red faction are singing. Did this used to happen in the holgate?

I love the South Stand coming alive, and it needs the numbers to do so.
I find Red Faction becoming cringey and holding the atmosphere back now.
I've loved the old 12th man group getting the North stand stuttering into life again.

I agree. Pig bag has well passed its sell by date and is becoming monotonous now. We play so many other good tunes at the stadium these days, surely one of the others could be used?
 
Atmosphere was ok and generally most weeks it's not too bad. Still think it could be cranked up a notch and probably would be if we were in pole position for 2nd place or if we do get back into the Prem.

Also I might be alone, but I'm not a fan of the ridiculous light show and pounding music straight after the final whistle when we win. It seems to kill off natural celebrations and songs and just looks a bit lame. It's a football stadium not the ****ing Madison.
